Chilling to Matisyahu's "One Day". Seems appropriate. "I know some day it will all turn around..." Hope I live long enough to see it.

It's pretty incredible that I have yet to hear one person, whether it be on here, social media, or in my day to day life who will say they'd be excited to have Butch Jones back in 2018.

Sure, there's a lot of "he'll win enough to stay" or "we're stuck with him", but the apathy has set in big time.

This is why I think even if we don't fire him he will take minor step down and coach elsewhere in 2018. If not he has lame-duck written all over him.

If he wins 9 games most will be very excited to have him back. 8 wins it will be about 50/50.

The team next year looks good on paper if we don't have anyone leave. Experience across the board on both sides of the ball and returning stars from injury. Schedule sets up ok if aub implodes again or struggles this year could be a tense situation on the plains.

Why expect players, especially the QBs, to improve from year to year? It's the exception, not the rule under Butch. I think at this point, you have to assume it's likely that JK leaves.

Not sure 50% of our fan base would be excited at Butch Jones finishing .500 in the conference in year 5.

Would put him at 18-22 in conference play. Not very exciting IMO

Plus if he can keep our recruiting class together it makes it even better. We def should win the east and compete with bama

This recruiting class will be middle of the pack in the SEC when it's all said and done, correct? I'm just not seeing anything to be excited about in that respect.

I'm just tired of our team looking so bad week in and week out, win or lose. We've never looked like a smooth, confident team since Butch got here. Everything looks so difficult for our team. Even when we're doing well it looks forced and unnatural. Tennessee football is hard to watch on many different levels.

Why not give a one year extension offer with no change in buyout? Shows we appreciate what you’ve done but we need more if you want more we need more from you.

I think that would be the obvious answer, but I expect Butch and Sexton to angle for more. Butch tried to get one last year from Hart and switched agents when he was unsusccessful. If he gets 8 wins, I think he tries to play hardball.

Im completely done with the Butch era at 8 wins. The only way I’m getting back on the Butch wagon is if he wins the East. If that’s 9 wins then so be it, but he needs to show he can win the division.

Jimmy Sexton would not agree to a fake extension. Not in a million years.

You've gotta extend him or fire him cause he didn't get extended last year. The only other possibility is that he wins enough for sexton to shop him to another school.

Don't understand this. Butch has three more seasons on his contract. No reason for Currie to extend him unless the results are significantly better as the season progresses.

Which fans say that about their SITTING coach? Not even Bama or Buckeyes fans.

Because other coaches will use this against him in recruiting. That's essentially a lame duck coach.
