You guys seriously think winning 10 or more once every 5 years is where we should be????

I agreed with him saying he would be OK with winning 8 games this season. I remember reading back in the spring that we would be replacing 90% of our offensive production this season, which I noted in an earlier post. And because we were cardiac kids in so many games last season, QD got very few meaningful snaps. And despite JJ being an Alpha dog, we were still returning very little production at WR. And then lose him and we are bringing in young receivers who likely didn't get nearbas many first team reps with QD as JJ and Call away did. So I felt like with playing Bama, UF away, UGA expected to be tough, and LSU coming on the schedule, more than 8 will be tough. But can be done. LSU we saw has there own problems. We know UGA has a ton of talent, but we will get a better feel for how good of a football team they are this Saturday hosting MSU. Bama is the only certain loss I see right now. Our pass/catch game Hasbro come together in a hurry. QD has to he smarter when he is pressured, and young receivers, and even veterans, have to run crisper routes. We know they are being taught. We have watched the practice videos with Coach Beard. And receivers have to start making those catches when they are open. This can still be a great season, but these guys have to take their game up a notch immediately. They have the talent and skills. Man up.

I think that was the story but everyone knew changing the offesne was maybe even as important to them as changing the HC

Well, I guess even Orgeron was frustrated with it. I am pretty sure they promoted Orgeron, and a day or two later, he terminated Cameron. I don't think the AD made that decision too.

Norvell? Durkin? Brohm? Lord have mercy! No thanks! If that's what we go for it's going to be insufferable trying to be a UT fan. That's Butch Jones 2.0

Peterson
Chip Kelly
Mullen
Durkin
Brohm
Tee
Norvell
Venables

In order.
I'd add McIntyre in there too, if it weren't for the Title IX stuff. We sure don't need that now.

DJ Durkin doesn't move the needle for me. I wasn't thrilled when Butch was hired, but the only two right now that would get me excited are Mullen and Norvell. I don't think the first two are realistic.

Get ready for it. Would be shocked if we hired a long time winner in a P5 conference. The last hires made at Florida, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, USC, ND, OU, Washington, and Stanford either only had G5 experience or just as a coordinator (or in Orgeron's case, he stunk).

Trey Smith on Vol calls told a story about the Power of Tennessee. He had just gotten a new truck and was very young as a driver. He was out driving one day and he wasn't paying attention then all of a sudden flashing lights came on behind him. He glanced at his speedometer and he was up to 70 in a 55 zone. He pulled over and waited. The policeman walked up to his truck, looked in, recognized him, and said, "You're the Smith Kid?" Trey replied, "yes sir". The policeman said, "Go Vols" and walked back to his car and went on his way.

At this point, I like the gamble with Norvell. He will be a great recruiter. There is a chance you hit a home run. If you don't, you start over again, and he probably leaves good talent. But at some point, you have to take a gamble that you find someone that is really good.

Major NCAA investigation incoming.

Quarte Sapp said he talked to JRM for an hour on Sunday. Said he talks with JRM often and most of what he knows about playing WILL linebacker he's learned and learning from JRM. JRM coaching him from afar.

I didn't want to be the one tell you you guys but after 4 days, someone needs to.

We haven't fired our current coach and we're still going to play this season.

Durkin actually has a better resume than Norvell. Check his bio. He's had significant success as both special teams coordinator and defensive coordinator in the SEC, defensive coordinator under Harbaugh, will have 2 years experience as a power 5 head coach (this includes a win over Texas, proving he can win a game vs. an opponent with superior talent).
