I feel like the offense really got in a groove late. The OL was imposing their will, QD was hitting the passes, and JK was not going to be stopped. Hopefully that's how we are going to play ball going forward.

I felt Scott called a fine game. Nothing special, but with execution, a lot more would have been had. The exception to that is routes being run 3 yards before the sticks on 3rd down. At least 2-3 instances of that, which stopped drives. Just run to the stinking sticks.

I liked that Scott found his playmakers and gave them the ball continuously. That is a sign of a smart OC.

When Marshall hurt his arm and Jordan came in we stopped them easily on 3 straight plays and they punted. Maybe the kid is just special. If he stays healthy i bet GT has a good year.

The kid is absolutely special. Some on here don't want to admit it, but you can see it all the way back in the spring.

I usually never watch other team's spring games, but I watched some of Georgia Tech because their offense was so different. I remember watching him play and hoping he wasn't their QB come game time.

Tatum was a blatant hold... not Kendrick

Silly Tech fans

Somebody needs to post the blatant no call of holding on Gaulden, the facemark on Callaway, and multiple other cut blocks down the field that weren't called. It went both ways. They just weren't calling penalties.

Brisket!!!

Edit: Grill not smoker. Brisket wouldn't work. Pork Tenderloin though is great on the grill.

Amongst all the "he locked in on his receiver"s and "threw off his back foot"s, I didn't notice the scouting report where a first time starter kept his cool during a 14 point comeback including a 93 yard drive just to TIE the game. The reward was two overtimes against a team that couldn't be stopped offensively. ONE nonconversion, failure to generate a TD or (egad!) an interception and he's the reason we lose. That pressure cooker has chewed up many a quality QB including our very own Dobbs against A&M last year. I'm not sold that Dormady was "nervous" in the early going. You go into the game knowing that Jennings is a go to guy and mandatory target. Trying to make that happen without being allowed to develop that feel and trust a quarterback has with their dependable playmakers would make you look off-balance when it doesn't immediately happen. He appeared to be developing chemistry on the fly...especially when JJ left the game. Guarantano had his helmet on and no doubt would have entered the game if Dormady hadn't generated that first scoring drive. He was communicating with his OL and setting his receivers in the proper formation like a multi-year starter by then...it was noticeable. Afterwards you had to ride that and see if he could pull this game off...spoiler alert, he did. Definitely hasn't locked up the starting job but has earned the chance to do so. Bad QBs don't come out with a win in games like this...they just don't.

Boom! 👍👍👍

No picks, no sacks, clutch at crunch time, overcame the drops, found his go to guy. That's all anybody should ask for in a debut start as "the man."

Run the ball. Let it set up everything else. That's what he did in the second half and we were fine. I think QD will improved. If he doesn't, we'll end up seeing JG in the swamp. QD won the game for us, but staring down receivers will result in multiple pick sixes against Florida. Just ask Speith at Michigan.

Ribs in oven covered with plastic wrap on low temp for 2 hours. Finish on grill for 10-15 minutes. Fall off the bone heaven.

It definitely went both ways, but some of the ones the were missed for GT were just blatant and even the announcers called them out for it

The later point was more a lack of execution than play calls. I agree on Scott. I am much more confident in his abilities to win big games than his predecessors.

Sending out prayers to the folks on Antigua, Barbuda, Saint Martin, Saint Bart's, & Anguilla. They took a direct hit from Irma & structures are 95%+ damaged or demolished on those islands.

That's a good one. Brats are always good. Grilled chicken thighs (not breasts, unless you're a true grill master who can cook 20 at a time without drying them out) is a really good, cheap grill item. Baste them a bit with bbq sauce at the end and everyone is happy.

That's was the point I was making. They got away with so much especially on touchdown drives.

Interesting take I heard on the radio today. A caller stated that he thought one of the reasons the defense normally (before injuries) played better in the second half last year was that Bob Shoop is good at stealing signals. Of course for GT Paul Johnson calls the play in the from the sidelines every time so there is no signal. Could just be justification but an interesting thought none the less.

I do think we will see a different defense going forward. I think they intentionally had guys lined up off the ball (tackles) and ends standing up and I think they were more concerned with injuries than yards allowed. Tuttle coming back will also greatly help.

I will re-evaluate the defense after the Florida game.

After week #1

Tennessee's offense ranked #1 in the SEC in rushing yards/attempt against P5 opponents
Quinten Dormady ranked #1 in the SEC in passing yards against P5 opponents
Marquez Callaway ranks as the #1 receiver in the SEC against P5 opponents

:)

I know, I know. It's just one game. Pump the brakes. Right? Let's see what we can do against a FCS opponent before we start thumping our chests.

Don't bring facts in here, it does not fit the narrative that we suck and Dormady sux.

Yep. The down field cut blocks were ticking me off because not only are they illegal but they are extremely dangerous.

I have been critical of Dormady, but I don't think that he sucks. In fact, I'm critical because I believe he is much better than he showed and will play better going forward. I think that he was just nervous. but he has to correct his mistakes before SEC play. He cannot stare down receivers against Florida or he'll be throwing picks and our receivers will get hurt. He can't throw off of his back foot and expect to make accurate throws. We didn't see him do those things against Tennessee Tech and Western Carolina and other teams. Probably first game jitters, but he better get over it quickly.
