He absolutely is against Dormady.
Didn't I post before WHY I didnt like him at QB? Did he not go out there and do exactly what I said? If I can see it I'm pretty sure these SEC DCs can see it too. Hurry him and he throws off his back foot. Plus he does not come off whoever his first read is. That's a major league problem for a junior QB to me. But I'm sure this will be flipped to something personal and this is my last post about the QB playing right now. I have ZERO expectations for this team and look forward to watching Kelly, Callaway, Warrior, Bituli, Trey Smith, Taylor and Chandler this year. #GBO
FWIW, Callaway was clearly a playmaker in camp last year. Z was working him hard and he was very attentive and responding. In one practice he high pointed a long pass from Dobbs in the back of the end zone over Abernathy for a TD in a mini scrimmage between the first team O and D.
The coaches had all the evidence they needed last year to play him more, they just had more experienced, talented guys ahead of him and he's not a slot. Not starting him was ridiculous this year. He's the most physically talented WR they have by far. JJ is a Warrior athlete that uses all has to beat you. Callaway is a natural WR who can become elite.
But the coaches have to call plays so the QB can throw him the ball. It would be like having Kelly and CFA in the same backfield all the time and giving most all of the carries to CFA. Stupid. I'm hopeful OC Scott will take it from here.

No difference. Just preconceived ideas rehashed and reformed to fit the narrative
After we crush Indiana State, "it's just Indiana State" or "we awesome!", whatever was decided on beforehand by the poster
After week #1
Tennessee's offense ranked #1 in the SEC in rushing yards/attempt against P5 opponents
Quinten Dormady ranked #1 in the SEC in passing yards against P5 opponents
Marquez Callaway ranks as the #1 receiver in the SEC against P5 opponents
I know, I know. It's just one game. Pump the brakes. Right? Let's see what we can do against a FCS opponent before we start thumping our chests.
Amongst all the "he locked in on his receiver"s and "threw off his back foot"s, I didn't notice the scouting report where a first time starter kept his cool during a 14 point comeback including a 93 yard drive just to TIE the game. The reward was two overtimes against a team that couldn't be stopped offensively. ONE nonconversion, failure to generate a TD or (egad!) an interception and he's the reason we lose. That pressure cooker has chewed up many a quality QB including our very own Dobbs against A&M last year. I'm not sold that Dormady was "nervous" in the early going. You go into the game knowing that Jennings is a go to guy and mandatory target. Trying to make that happen without being allowed to develop that feel and trust a quarterback has with their dependable playmakers would make you look off-balance when it doesn't immediately happen. He appeared to be developing chemistry on the fly...especially when JJ left the game. Guarantano had his helmet on and no doubt would have entered the game if Dormady hadn't generated that first scoring drive. He was communicating with his OL and setting his receivers in the proper formation like a multi-year starter by then...it was noticeable. Afterwards you had to ride that and see if he could pull this game off...spoiler alert, he did. Definitely hasn't locked up the starting job but has earned the chance to do so. Bad QBs don't come out with a win in games like this...they just don't.
