Low percentage lol...I like calling a high percentage pass that picks up the first down and leaves time on the clock for another play or two verses two low percentage deep balls that Hooker has struggled with all night long.
Heupel has learning to do. His offense relies too much on tempo. When teams do the injury BS or we need to slow it down he has to add in some wrinkles. Tempo is good but its too much of a crutch for him.
I still dont understand why Small was pulled after that long run. Unless he hurt his shoulder.Doesn’t have to change his strategy the injury thing is going to be voted on this year. Also, if we had a RB that would actually smash it up the middle instead of tiptoeing to the line (Wright) we would of converted a lot more 3rd and 4th downs.
if they call that one then the touchdown to the tight end should have been the same imo. He was stopped also and what happens if somebody comes in and drills him you going to call late hit/personnel foul
Embarrassing that refs decided who won. The Vols punched them just as much.Refs were bad, sure. Whatever-they’ve been terrible all year. It’s the new reality.
The Vols lost this game. Effort was sub-optimal.
The Purdue TE TD was one of the more gutless efforts by Vols I’ve seen in a long time. Embarrassing. Should be shown all off-season on a loop in weight room with the caption “play to the whistle”.
Purdue wanted it, punched Vols in the mouth and took it.
Great post. Even at the 2 with 4 plays to push it in I expected the results we got, seen us go in reverse too many times this year. That’s why we won 7 , 9-10 with wins over ole miss, Pitt and UF was possible with a real SEC O Line and a little bit better back 7 on D.Fun game even though it sucks we lost….. refs sucked and field sucked….. loved the fight from our guys….. time to move on …… get some transfers and get ready for a great 2022 season.
Then I’m content to not spend any money on themNobody from UT will say anything publicly. They never do. At most, UTAD will send a polite letter to the SEC noting their grievances, Sankey will ignore it and the inept officiating, bias and look-the-other-way nonsense will continue as it has for years. The SEC wants member institutions to take their multi-millions, shut up and support the gravy train that keeps everyone fat and happy. And UT seems to be content to do exactly that.

Don't conferences hire refs and set policy?NCAA has an officiating problem in both football and basketball. Refs need to be full time, trained and held accountable - similar to pros. But NCAA would have to spend money, so instead we get crap officiating all across college sports. Any NCAA approved game personality risks losing their jobs, so they do not speak out against this problem. Basketball is even worse than football.
Refs should not have conference affiliations
