Asking a guy to make the perfect downfield throw vs making the easy throws like we did earlier in the year vs South Carolina before half with less time left
🤷🏾‍♂️

To add to that, if we were already in FG range, I’m not even bringing it up.
But going for broke there considering how Porous our defense played since the 2nd quarter is just a bad decision

We scored 45 points...even with Hooker sucking...please don't blame the offensive staff. Purdue gambled that he would suck, one of the Purdue coaches basically said what they were going to do when he was talking about Hookers deep percentage. If Hooker was just a little better...we would have run them....They gambled and won.

Until we put a decent defense on the field this is what we have to look forward to...BUT...when we do, and I believe we WILL in time, we are going to win BIG.

45 points with your QB missing open guys all game all over the place...that is nuts.

Also...that QB is awesome...you have to give him that.

ACC refs... Spots were horrible all game and the ref who said forard progress was stopped also didn't call the hold on Tillman on the last series in Q4
The fact that he called the head ref over to emphasize that he called forward progress so it couldn't be reviewed is especially infuriating. You never ever see forward progress called at the goal line when a guy is fighting.

That said, why didn't he stretch for the endzone and why was Small not in the game?

I’m as pissed as anyone with that bullsh*t call, but let’s be real here: it never should have come to that. The play calling was arguably the worst all year. I love JH, but man this game was a terribly called game. On top of that, our offense was mediocre. We came out swinging and then just slowed down the rest of the game. It was a completely different UT team than we’ve seen all year. Our defense played great, but even they made some extremely costly mistakes—14 of those points in the first half we’re allowed to occur because of terribly timed PIs (a few of the only legit ones all game). Overall, what a terrible end to a promising 2021 season.

But, the good news is: it’s over. On to 2022 and a fight for the East! We have a pretty good schedule, decent recruits coming in, and some solid, must have veterans coming back. There’s hope on the horizon!

NCAA has an officiating problem in both football and basketball. Refs need to be full time, trained and held accountable - similar to pros. But NCAA would have to spend money, so instead we get crap officiating all across college sports. Any NCAA approved game personality risks losing their jobs, so they do not speak out against this problem. Basketball is even worse than football.
Refs should not have conference affiliations
You still don't get it. They were absolutely competent at doing what they set out to do.

Nobody from UT will say anything publicly. They never do. At most, UTAD will send a polite letter to the SEC noting their grievances, Sankey will ignore it and the inept officiating, bias and look-the-other-way nonsense will continue as it has for years. The SEC wants member institutions to take their multi-millions, shut up and support the gravy train that keeps everyone fat and happy. And UT seems to be content to do exactly that.
that is the whole problem throw being politically correct out the door and you know what they could fine the hell out of me if I was coach, but these guys would be fired if i was blatantly that shilly at my job. These kids play for the nation on national tv and these games continually go to replay and for what. I would never survive or would need volnation to support my fining for they would find out quickly what my thoughts are about instances like this.

To downplay the officiating impact on the game is silly
Fair enough. The refs were bad and we scored on that play. No question.
My point is we should have never been in that situation. Purdue played harder and beat a more talented team.
Refs contributed, no doubt. We have put teams like that away though, avoiding the possibility that refs can determine the outcome.

JH is Pete Carroll with jabari small as Marshawn lynch on the sideline…😂😂 I have so many questions fir this dude….jarbi literally ran from Nashville to Knoxville and BACK!! On this defense but chooses to have a freshman in?🥴🤔 Jabari scores with ease!

Low percentage lol...

Someone running butt naked open behind the defense isn't low percentage. Hooker missed an easy throw and the mother ****er refs missed an easy call the next play. That's all there is to it.

Both of them were completely wide open. Tillman was wide open even after the DB rode him like a horse for five yards. Hooker should have looked off a wide open reciever because it would have gotten too many yards. That's the argument you guys are making right now.
No. The argument is that we should have called a slant, an out route, a wr screen, or similar high percentage play to try and get into field goal range and win the game. Not try and score a touchdown that we do not need by throwing the ball 60 yards down the field.

You can laugh all you want. Those deep balls are low percentage throws.

We lost because we were screwed by the refs.

Yeah it was the refs fault that the offense couldn’t score for almost 2 full quarters. It was the refs fault that our defense let an average B10 QB light us up like Bryce Young. It was the refs fault that our OL got abused. It was the refs fault that we couldn’t cover a bunch of slow B10 WRs. It was the refs fault that Heupel got out coached by Jeff freaking Brohm.

Exactly. Why are you putting the game in his shoulders instead of Small?

The argument they are making is we got O yards on 2 plays, and it’s 100% more likely we get some yards on 2 short passes or a run straight up the middle
