'21 Recruiting Forum: Music City Bowl vs. Purdue Pregame/Game Thread

For craps sake don't turn on the staff..that is the last f'n thing we need is to start a "our coaches are stupid" campaign.

We get a decent defense and we will win big.

Just think how unstoppable this offense will be when we get a QB that is more accurate on deep balls and a bigger RB.

Thank you, that’s the Heupel reaction I referenced earlier.

I’m as pissed as anyone with that bullsh*t call, but let’s be real here: it never should have come to that. The play calling was arguably the worst all year. I love JH, but man this game was a terribly called game. On top of that, our offense was mediocre. We came out swinging and then just slowed down the rest of the game. It was a completely different UT team than we’ve seen all year. Our defense played great, but even they made some extremely costly mistakes—14 of those points in the first half we’re allowed to occur because of terribly timed PIs (a few of the only legit ones all game). Overall, what a terrible end to a promising 2021 season.

But, the good news is: it’s over. On to 2022 and a fight for the East! We have a pretty good schedule, decent recruits coming in, and some solid, must have veterans coming back. There’s hope on the horizon!
Bruh, the ******** calls and no-calls started in the first quarter and ran through the entire game.

Fair enough. The refs were bad and we scored on that play. No question.
My point is we should have never been in that situation. Purdue played harder and beat a more talented team.
Refs contributed, no doubt. We have put teams like that away though, avoiding the possibility that refs can determine the outcome.
I do think it's indisputable that we left a lot of points out there. And the two really long TDs late were just awful.

Nobody from UT will say anything publicly. They never do. At most, UTAD will send a polite letter to the SEC noting their grievances, Sankey will ignore it and the inept officiating, bias and look-the-other-way nonsense will continue as it has for years. The SEC wants member institutions to take their multi-millions, shut up and support the gravy train that keeps everyone fat and happy. And UT seems to be content to do exactly that.
****ing stupid

Listen…

63% 378 Passing Yards 5 TDs 0 INTs 1 Fumble with 62 rushing yards is objectively one of the best QB performances UT has seen in nearly 2 decades.

Small had 180 rushing yards and 1 TD, another stellar performance.

Tillman had 150 yards and 3 TDs, again an ungodly game.

Our defense has got to improve BIG time, the offense should be able to win going away if they hang 45 points on a team, period.

The whistle doesn't matter. What's BS is that he would call forward progress at all at the goal line.

If whistles don’t matter, it makes forward progress more subjective than it already is. You play through the whistle! Did you see Purdue stop playing?
