'21 Recruiting Forum: Music City Bowl vs. Purdue Pregame/Game Thread

Give it a rest, you are completely wrong here and are just continuing to double and triple down. It was an absolutely horrible stop of forward progress.
Am I wrong because you want me to be, or are you going to provide some evidence? I didn't say it wasn't a horrible call. It was atrocious. I'm only making the case (correctly) that the whistle is not what determines the end of a play. It only notifies that the end of the play has happened. That's why you can't review it, because the timing of the whistle doesn't matter at all.

Nobody from UT will say anything publicly. They never do. At most, UTAD will send a polite letter to the SEC noting their grievances, Sankey will ignore it and the inept officiating, bias and look-the-other-way nonsense will continue as it has for years. The SEC wants member institutions to take their multi-millions, shut up and support the gravy train that keeps everyone fat and happy. And UT seems to be content to do exactly that.
Sick of that

If the kid who needed two knee surgeries did that to WB. What would Bell have done?
That guy looked fine to me…. I think he was playing it up a lot…. He could barely move coming on and off the field…. He looked like he had died after every tackle….. when the play was snapped…. He showed no sign of injury nor did he show any sign of injury as he was jumping around celebrating.

Sorry, from the time you strap on your first helmet in peewee football you are taught the play doesn’t end until you hear a whistle. Been that way since before I was born. I don’t really care what BS you try to use to convince everyone that the call was correct.

I mean the same line judge that marked the last run before the missed FG at least a yard short.
They marked the ball a yard short all night long!! It cost us on poor spots on back to back plays then we went on 4th and didn’t make it. Should have never had to go for it on 4th down.

I love this team. Hate to see the seniors go out like that. Hate to see the seniors leave period. This is one of my favorite TN teams, not because of what they accomplished but how they competed.

Having said that, I've been out on Banks all year. In my eyes he's simply not an SEC level defensive coordinator. We were promised a gambling style defense that would force turnovers. We never got that. Nobody wanted the job so he took it. We have to field a better defense. We need more players and a better defensive play caller.

No one is saying the call was correct. What part of that can't you grasp? Just cause your peewee coach told you something doesn't make it the rule. The play ends when the action on the field ends the play. The whistle just notifies everyone that has happened. That's explicitly how it works. Your peewee coach didn't want to have a philosophical discussion with you or didn't know the rule himself, so he told you "just play to the whistle."

We got screwed and the whole country is saying we got screwed, it is what it is. I’m not going to let this game tarnish what was a season that far exceeded most of our expectations. Hopefully the guys coming back use this a motivation during the off-season, excited for the future.
