Did Muhammad die and rise from the dead?

And I reject the second statement there that the gospels are inconsistent and His biography is limited. There are 27 books of the New Testament that teach us about Christ. It's only limited if you reject the New Testament.

I mean, you can reject that statement all you want, but there are inconsistencies, even among those that likely share the same source (Matthew, Mark, and Luke sharing the "Q" source)

Thats interesting, thanks for the reply. I will absolutely have to read more into the early writings to educate myself on this.

I, and many others, seem to have a moral qualm with the Bible and God in particular. Namely, if it is to be believed as the absolute, undeniable word of a perfect, omnipotent God. Because in theory if God is infallible then his morality is objective right? I just wonder how Christians & others balance the fact that if the Bible is God's word how do they both accept that his morality is superior but in the same book there are things like Psalm 137, 1 Peter 2:18, wiping out the entire planet for upsetting God (flood) and more. Its like he has human attributes which you wouldnt expect out of this supreme creator. Anyway, just rambling - thanks for the reply
Not only did He destroy it with a flood once before, but He will destroy it again, but this time with fire. It's a mistake to think that He is like us and reacts like us with passion and anger. No, the Bible includes anthropopathism and anthropomorphisms to help us be able to comprehend things which are much too high for us. But the mistake that we often make is that we make God in our image when He is not. He is holy, and since He is holy, He must punish sin, and He will. But that is why He sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. All sin will be punished, every single one. They will be punished in one of two ways. I will either endure the punishment myself for my sin. Or, I can look to Jesus, who endured my punishment in my place so that I wouldn't have to. Christ took the punishment for the sins of those who believe in Him. His was a substitution, an act of grace, to save us from the wrath of holy God. In fact, that is what the gospel teaches, that God saves us from Himself, by providing Christ. He then invites you to receive Him and thus receive salvation from that judgment that is to come.

I just quoted their scripture though. The Upanishads are central in Hinduism. They’re monotheistic.

Hinduism formed before Christ so yeah of course they don’t talk about following Christ. The pre date him by centuries.
Still, Hinduism may have some similar features with Christianity on a moral level, but they don't teach the same way of salvation.

At any rate, if you believe God created this world and loves his creation - especially people - does your view of religions automatically disqualify and condemn SEVERAL BILLION moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters and sons that exist on the planet today that don’t happen to follow your doctrines? Do you think a loving God would set up a scenario where nearly 1/2- 2/3 of his entire creation is existentially screwed, mainly because of what area or country they were born in? That’s a pretty mean God who would do that.

Ok, I’m gonna get fired if I don’t put the phone down and do some work...
Great point. If that were true then this God is more overrated than Blake Carringer and I'm extremely unimpressed.

That's the thing. The devout of the other religions you call false, say yours is false for the same basic reason you do.

So either everyone is right... Everyone is wrong lol

This is what I believe. Truth comes from God; Religion comes from man. There are different levels, or ratings if you will, for where people are in their religious development. Some could be 5-stars and some could be 5-stars only in their own eyes. When I was in Nuclear Power school for the Navy at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in California, one day I was sitting in class (I think it was thermodynamics) and I received a cosmic revelation. I’m not permitted to divulge the contents of the revelation but all of my friends from that class began calling me Cosmo from that point onward. They knew I knew but we didn’t talk about what I knew. True story.

Why is that the only option? If someone says that the moon is made of cheese, someone else says its made of pancake batter, and the other says its made of rock, is everyone right or is everyone wrong? No, one is right and the others are wrong. If Christ died and rose again, then Christianity is right, and everything else is wrong. It all hinges on Him and thus any religion then that denies Him is false.

Lol... You just proved my point.

I will say this, I want as many people to be eternally saved as will be, I have my beliefs (at this point in my life those will not change) on how that happens, but if I get there and find out God almighty had different ways than what I believe to be the truth to accomplish that...then I promise you I will not be upset. All I can do for myself is have faith, and trust in Gods mercy.

I don't need Wikipedia to help me study the reliability of the gospels. Depends on what you mean by inconsistencies. If you mean that one gospel mentions only one man came to Jesus and another mentions two. Is that an inconsistency? Maybe, but its not a contradiction. For one gospel simply mentions the one man who spoke and ignores the other one. That's just one example. The gospels are in perfect harmony and this has been defended ad nauseam for centuries.

Well get ready because you only be surrounded by those that were saved so Volnation gonna be really boring.

centuries...

the world is millions of years old but yeah, centuries.

We are not even a blink in the history of the universe and yet it all revolves around us. Silly.
Interesting...

"When I look your heavens the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor." Psalm 8:3-5

David marveled at the same thing that you do now. Though he didn't find it silly.

I'd like to know that story, actually. The only requirement for knowing Christ is turning from sin and believing in Him.

Jake linked a story to my example but here is another from his autobiography, basically as to why if you're trying to, in your mind, enlighten someone, maybe insulting their beliefs isn't the best approach.

In those days Christian missionaries used to stand in a corner near the high school and hold forth, pouring abuse on Hindus and their Gods. I could not endure this. I must have stood there only once but that was enough to dissuade me from repeating the experiment

David also probably thought the sun revolved around the earth and that it was flat.

David is a fictional character. Newt is a real person.

They do. All religions do.

Something created all of this. Each religion has their variations on how to find this greater power but the path converges to the same place. To god. Looking down upon others and judging them for how they find god means that you’re on the path but you’re at a stand still. Learn to love and accept your brothers and sisters. You’ll notice a huge change in your life.
