I don't think the magnitude of the crash is going to hurt Trump as much as it normally would because it was brought on by a pandemic rather than a business cycle, but it won't help.Trump got roughly 8% of the African American vote in 2016. Recent polls have showed his approval rating among African Americans to be closer to 20% recently. If he can get anywhere close to that 20% to vote for him in November, it will be a slaughter. This also doesn't include the other minority groups that have been able to prosper under this current administration.
The economy is sucking right now but people are aware of how it was rocking and rolling only a couple of months ago. Aggregate that with Biden's sexual assault cloud and now his inability to remember where he is or what he said or did and I think Trump runs away with it and brings a bunch of house seats back to the conservatives and maybe even expands the majority in the Senate.
I literally have said that since the beginning, so why didn't we quarantine the highest risk and let it run it's course?
It would have vastly lessened the davastating impacts of the economic suicide that is the lockdown on the 99+ percent of people that are in very little danger of serious effects from the virus.
And California is wanting to shutdown for another three months?? That is insane...I hope the sane people there riot against this stupidity. I mean who does the Cali govt think is going to feed their people? This stupid Kentucky butthole governor is already crying about a half billion in lost tax revenue, and yet wants to continue to drag this out longer and longer...
I don't know about massive but they will gain seats. The Dems know they're in trouble. It's why they're trying to push another stimulus package through so they can say "See we're trying to help by giving you money. The Republicans didn't give you this much the first time! We care more!"
Those folks are getting hurt the most and I hope they start voicing their displeasure to their elected officials. City, State, and Federal politicians need to stop playing their games and start doing the right thing for the people they represent. People are already mad at the lunacy of how this is being handled and if it goes on much longer people will stop with simple protests. I am very worried that their will be groups that will resort to armed revolt if governments persist with these unconstitutional lockdown orders.

"We went and borrowed a bunch of money that you will have to try and pay back with enormous amounts of interest. Of course we have borrowed so much that will be nearly impossible to ever pay it back. Ever. However, with that being said, here is some of that money now so you will vote for us. Yes, we did give money to dead people and non-citizens too, but we need their votes as much as we need yours."
The research isn't about that, from what I can tell. It is about shifts in medical services or lack or access. Not economic issues or people not being able to gather or eat at a restaurant. Then again, the study was funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, so probably just part of a conspiracyNobody cares about that though...evidently those hypothetical deaths don't pay...I mean..matter..as much as hypothetical Covid-19 deaths.
The societal devastation caused by the lockdown is an abstract concept to most people. The mainstream media will NEVER report on it though, keeping it an abstract concept to most people..because they are complicit in the fear mongering that caused it.
Football aside we needs everything open. I’ll be forever grateful that my family is fortunate enough to be able to have the means to make it but a lot of people don’t. I truly feel for the single parents out there that barely made ends meet working two jobs and their car just got towed away or they can’t make rent or buy food.

I don't need to wear a mask. If I get the virus, I will either have no symptoms, or it will be a mild bug that will pass in a matter of days. I'll go and shake hands with people who have corona. It isn't going to hurt me. As posted above, I have more of a chance of dying from being struck by lightning than dying from the coronavirus. If you're worried about getting it, wear a mask to protect yourself. But you're not going to make me do it.Whether Republicans win in November turns on whether their conspiracy house of cards holds up. Trump is in trouble if enough people decide that continuing to believe obvious lies isn't worth the risk to their family's lives.

I agree. Most understand the economy was screwed regardless, because of the pandemic.I don't think the magnitude of the crash is going to hurt Trump as much as it normally would because it was brought on by a pandemic rather than a business cycle, but it won't help.
He could sneak through the electoral college while losing the popular vote again, though. I saw a national poll had Biden up 5 but a battleground-states only poll had Trump up 7, I think.
I think the point was if you get it (and then spread it to other people unknowingly) then cases could go up. States are reopening based on the White House's guidelines, which relies on data. So it only causes a delayed reopening. It is counterproductive to what you and most of us want.I don't need to wear a mask. Poor guy. He was so young too. F cancer. Reminds me of Stuart Scott. Dude's ESPY speech was legendary and so dang sad. You knew he didn't have much more in him, but he was fighting like hell.Anyone else think Ed Aschoff died of Covid? I know he had stage 4 cancer but I bet if that situation happened now they would classify it as covid.

Those are the at risk people. They can wear a mask all they want to, and should. Its not about you, it's about elderly people who are out shopping, it's about people going out to help their families. Putting others at risk and bragging about it is the saddest kind of virtue signaling.
On a purely practical level, killing a bunch of old people to own the libs is going to slow reopening because hospitals are going to stay overwhelmed.
