The guidelines say otherwise. If we keep numbers down through safe, sensible measures, then we meet the White House's data suggestions and are more likely to reopen incrementally.

If it runs wild because we acted all cavalier, that just gives them more cause to relockdown. Why would we want that?

There's no race to reach herd immunity, that would cause more deaths. Reopen, but everyone being smart means we can have a win-win of being open and causing fewer deaths before we reach a vaccine.

What we should want is at risk people locked down. Everyone else opens and saves our country and economy. Again. If you’re not over 65, you’ll likely have no symptoms or it will be extremely mild.

Only to get slammed this fall.

I think the virus is far worse than some here, but I also think we're missing an opportunity to build toward herd immunity. Unless there is a vaccine imminent, we should be pushing this right up to the edge of available resources throughout the summer. It'll help tremendously this fall/winter when it is harder to control.

This sort of makes my point. To survive politically, the right-wing corona virus is a hoax crowd has to persuade the country to ignore reality and the doctors who have spent a lifetime studying disease. And they have to do while somehow not injecting themselves bleach, convincing themselves China unleashed a horrible bioweapon on the U.S. to spite Trump, and that the virus is no big deal.

That's quite a lift, I would also not want to talk about it.

Your original post said that me wearing a mask would keep me from giving it to someone else. But that them wearing a mask would not keep me from giving it to them. That’s what I was responding to. And the link you provided did not say that btw.

I do not think it is a hoax. But, it is nowhere near what people want us to think. The media ignores the positive numbers out of states that has opened up. The left wing governors are putting in more severe lock down measures in spite of the data coming out showing that this thing is not deadly to many under 65 unless they are severely compromised. You’re more likely to die of a lightning strike that covid. Why draconian laws?

Then there is the inflation of the death numbers. That is a fact that they admit. Not a conspiracy theory. All you have is “muh Trump!” You have no actual data to continue to support these ridiculous lock down measures.

He knows more than he lets on, but those guys absolutely won't go into rumors. We here love rumors, so I get that. But they are being professional not getting into unsubstantiated things too and I respect that. That is what VQ and here are for lol.

I'll say one thing about 247 is you can ask questions and they respond very quickly. The board is also a lot like the RF. A lot of fairly optimistic, reasonable posters that get along, have meetups, are overall a good community. And they clean up and moderate the board so there is less crap. I'm on VQ too and appreciate Hubbs and AP's nuggets, but their board is such garbage. It is like 50% new threads on COVID right now and they just let it run wild. And so manys posters there are like the FF. Either negative or just shizposting. I just hop in for nuggets, but otherwise it is completely unbearable. And they never answer questions. It sucks to pay for a site and they won't even respond to you unless you are in their 1 hour/week chat.

The mask significantly reduces the tendency for it to become aerosol. It doesn't do nearly as much to prevent inhalation once it is. That's simple fluid physics.

Okay. Then none of us should ever leave our houses without a mask on again. Or gloves for that matter. Let’s make it a law and arrest everyone who doesn’t comply.

Bass's response was snapping from "I'll never wear a mask" to "let's make it illegal to not wear a mask and gloves". There is a middle ground that says we can/should choose to wear masks because it reduces the risk of a healthy non-symptomatic carrier of infecting others around us. It doesn't have to be binary.
