LB is the teams weakest position, without a doubt. Not even close. They’ve only played 3 guys practically all year. Maybe others aren’t ready & Texas transfer didn’t show anything what little he did play.

If you hit a guy at the line and tackle him for no gain or you tackle him 6 yards past the line it is just 1 Tackle in the stats.
UGA and good LB’s tackle at the line, Banks makes it 7 yards later.
That’s the difference. Stat line is the same, results very different

All that can and is true under the current circumstances,
But it doesn’t make him any better than he is,
Which is below average for SEC

Tallest midget? I looked up the top ten inside linebackers predicted for this years draft and Banks has more tackles than all but…. More TFL’s than all but 1 and more sacks than any of them…. I bet as we add more talent around him then his performance would be even better…. I don’t know where we would be without him, Butler, and Taylor…. Such great leaders on this defense…. People need to put some respect on Banks name.

Total tackles probably not the greatest indicator of talent. Especially when teams are running 100 plays on our defense.

Banks has been better than I thought, but he's got a lot of work to do to be a top LB in the SEC. Def the best LB on our team, but not saying much when you are comparing to guys like Beasley and Page who are not SEC caliber

Georgia’s elite defensive line keeps the offensive lineman from getting to the linebackers…. It all works together but Banks does have more tackles for loss than any of Georgia’s linebackers.

we struggled against two pro qbs. we should have beaten pitt. florida was a winneable game. Bama is Bama. UGA is number one team in the Country.

no way banks gets the blame. what this defense has been able to do...90+ snaps a game is really pretty amazing.

Yep….. they have been a huge plus for this team….. Butler andBanks played over 90 snaps against kentucky…. That’s insane.

Jones, Levis and Bennet aren’t pro QBs. Those guys did a great job against us. Banks shares a huge part of that blame. I don’t know why you and some others just cannot accept the fact that Banks is a mediocre to bad LB. He misses a lot of tackles and is out of position quite a bit. The fact that he is our best LB shows the abysmal state that our LB Corp is in. Yes the defense has done a good job despite playing all of those snaps. But one of the major reasons the defense plays all those snaps is because of bad LB play.

Ask yourself this. Would this defense be like it is now if we had Nakobe Dean and Adam Anderson as opposed to Banks and Beasley?

Im not a coach but rewatching games this year this is what I've noticed. Banks has 89 Tackles, 4.5 sacks, 9TFLs, 1 Int, 1PBR, 2QBH... he's been pretty dang good. Problem is he's getting targeted by Lineman because he has zero help from Beasley. Its not exactly hard to see that teams are running at Beasley and away from Banks so the fact he's still racking up tackles means he's doing about all he can. He needs help.
Edit: I did some digging and AJ Johnson had 101 tackles, 9 tfls, 2 sacks, 2 FF, 1 int in 2014. I would say Banks is doing just fine.

On rewatching games it is crazy how much they target Banks to run at Beasley. If the kid improves and gets stronger over the next year, that will cause us to stop a lot of this and get the defense off the field quicker...which will lead our offense to scoring even more points..

It is amazing how bad that kid is playing, and how his struggle is effectively altering the whole teams performance.

Banks I don't think is a bad linebacker at all. Great? No. But he's decent at least. His biggest problem imo is that he's being tasked to make up for Beasley's and Paige's many deficiencies. He's not good enough to do that. I'm not sure there are many who are quite frankly.

Beasley and Paige give it all they've got. They just don't have much to give unfortunately. Neither of them are even close to being SEC caliber players.

Yep Beasley is over matched right…. Needs to get a lot stronger but he is head and shoulders above the guys behind him as well.
