The true crime is causing an accident. That's the point you've infringed upon the rights of someone else. Speeding doesn't mean you're going to cause an accident.Seat belts are a completely different story. I wear mine, but only because my car yells at me if I don't. Very little chance my wearing or not wearing a seatbelt is going to have any negative impact on anyone besides myself should I be in an accident.
Wearing or not wearing a seatbelt doesn't make someone more or less likely to cause an accident. I don't even know what we are arguing here. The true crime is causing an accident. Your wife and kids might view that differently.Seat belts are a completely different story. I wear mine, but only because my car yells at me if I don't. Very little chance my wearing or not wearing a seatbelt is going to have any negative impact on anyone besides myself should I be in an accident.
That is true. I do wear mine now. We stressed it to our kids so much when they were young, if I ever tried to pull out of the driveway without it on while one of the kids was in the car with me they would make sure I knew about it. lolYour wife and kids might view that differently.
After my wife and three young kids were in an accident that flipped their minivan, I was grateful for seat belt laws.
This is the crap that I am talking about...
@Ulysees E. McGill is going to be disappointed when he finds out you're a communist seeking to jinx the Vols.I'm going to start a game thread and give you something else to focus on.
That is the stuff I am talking about. If someone wants to drive fast they can, but they very often get impatient and start slipping in and out of lanes. They can't just be patient and wait for the slower moving vehicle to get out of the way.And they were doing more than just speeding. They were bobbing in and out of traffic, creating a problem for other motorists. I've already said, that is reckless driving. But I don't see strictly speeding as reckless driving. Speeding does not have to include the bobbing and weaving those knuckleheads were doing.
@Ulysees E. McGill is going to be disappointed when he finds out you want his SIL to be placed in danger by idiots driving recklessly.@Ulysees E. McGill is going to be disappointed when he finds out you're a communist seeking to jinx the Vols.
Slow drivers should be courteous and move over when someone who wants to drive faster than they are going comes up behind them. That would solve some of the road rage problems. That is the stuff I am talking about. If @Ulysees E. McGill agrees with laws that infringe our rights to drive at speed, then I will be disappointed in him. Mandatory speeds are no different than mandatory seat belts.@Ulysees E. @Ulysees E. McGill loves freedom and hates restrictive laws, but he hates morons just as much or more.If @Ulysees E. McGill agrees with laws that infringe our rights to drive at speed, then I will be disappointed in him. Mandatory speeds are no different than mandatory seat belts.
