The episode of the Long Night was good to me.
Was hoping for the Jon Snow spinoff where he heads so far north that he eventually goes South into Sothoryos and meats descendent of Valryians that caused “The Doom”

That episode would have been passable if I could’ve SEEN the damn thing! Or maybe it was meh and shrouding it was by design?

about 10 years ago American cinematographers (i believe we can trace it back to netflix/streaming services taking over) decided to give gaffers a break when it came to shooting night scenes, as pitch black lends itself to "realism" or whatever they will convince themselves it is. I hate it. you cant see anything anymore whereas cinematographers before knew the audience would suspend disbelief as to the origin of the artificial nighttime lighting.

the age old question, "but where is the light coming from at night?" can be chased with "where does the music come from, idiot?"

Watched the Prequel. Which had me to about epi 4/5 of S1. Then inexplicably they changed actresses.
