I absolutely agree about the bad tackling. It was just flat out embarrassing. Warrior is just awful. At least with the true freshman you got hope for improvement. I do believe the lack of pressure didn't help them at all. I did see improvement on the O side. JG really looked good and I am one that didn't have much faith in him after last year. The O moved the ball with run and passing and with patched up one with that. I was as surprised at how bad our D play as much as I was surprised how good our O looked. That doesn't mean I think they have arrived but remember last year? They couldn't open holes on what was suppose to be easy teams.

Another part of it was the execution of the blitzes. We were showing those corner/S blitzes too early and making it too easy for Grier to recognize. And I’m not saying not blitz or play much zone, just stop those particular blitzes that left Flowers and Abernathy in bad spots.

Yep and Pruit admitted as much in the post game press conference.

Said there were a few times it was on him and he put the young guys in a tough position.

Question-- how high were the DL ranked coming out of high school on WV team compared to ours, and then look at how much pressure they got on us today compared to us...

Main takeaway-- our team doesn't have the confidence yet to win, and Botch is/was horrible at evaluating talent--- not bashing the kids, it is not their fault, but most of our talent level Botch recruited should be playing at a low tier Div 1 or Div 2... We DO have some talent, but for a coach who was at a SEC program for 5 yrs, who didn't have a recruiting class rank below 35, our talent level is nowhere close to where it should be.

We're discussing defense moran. The O was ok. 14 or even 21 points ain't gonna get it done though. WV defense was trash last year. Maybe they've improved.

My problem was constantly putting those young and inexperienced DBs in one on one situations with experienced wr with a good QB throwing to them. Recipe for disaster as it turned out to be.

If that WVU offense lives up to all the hype, I’ll feel a lot better about the loss. I did see some encouraging things in the game.

I want to make something perfectly clear, I'm not giving up on coach Pruitt. I probably gave him too much credit. He probably wasn't ready for a job this big. He's 10 years removed from being a highschool coach. I think he has a good football mind. He's got to learn on the job. If I look at it objectively, I see a coach that has a learning curve to go through. I still think he has the potential to be a very good coach. It's going to take some time.

I'm still all aboard the Pruitt train.

Lol. That's precisely why we are the most profitable. Huge revenue, low expenses, and no consequences for a poor product. It's truly the perfect business.

It’s gonna make winning feel so good when we finally have everything together. We’ll be the most intolerable fan base, but it will be earned.

I just don’t see what choice we had. We had to get pressure on Grier somehow and we tried. We tried to only bring 3 or 4 at that start of the game and it wasn’t working at all

We make some adjustments start blitzing heavily from the nickel and A gap and we force two straight 3 and outs. Ounce they changed their formations and started leaving a Tight end or a RB back (a couple times they chipped our nickel blitz with a motion fake, which was really savvy on their part) to block there was nothing we could do they were just better than us. Several times we were in good position and Grier just made throws.
