Its obviously complicated with Kiffin. That's why I think it's so fascinating to think about. I didn't say we should hire him. I said he was way down my list. I'm sure he's way down Currie's list as well. He should be.

But he's definitely a better coach than the sticks up your butts are telling some of you.

I agree. Hiring a coach because he's a celebrity analyst just doesn't seem like a sure fire guarantee to me. Guy hasn't coached in forever, and while he did win a ring, he didn't prove he can have sustained success coaching at any level. And if he did kill it here, he'd probably jump to the NFL.

Yet we can lose 7 starters at one time and it's "no excuses". I'm not actually downing those coaches and definitely not supporting Jones, I just don't get the double standard.

How do you think Jones would have done last year had we lost Dobbs for the year? We would have been lucky to make a bowl.

I was debating that reality myself last night. I don't think I can do it though. I'll pull for Bama to put them in their place before UF

I saw that. The one with no context at all.

The one that compares losses to SCe, Vandy, UF(who got housed by Harbaugh two weeks earlier), SCe again, and UGA to FSU, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Iowa.

The one that includes games from Butch's 4th and 5th season to Harbaugh's 2nd and 3rd.

I made it extremely clear that I wasn't downing other coaches but just pointing out the double standard.

We would have suffered tremendously without Dobbs and the VN response would have been "no excuses".

Again, this isn't about the coaches. It's about how full of isht some are according to whether it's UT or basically any other team.

Yeah, guys, they just ripped us a new one on Gameday... I don't think I've ever heard the level of blatant disrespect for this program than today... We are yesterday's trash to them and they were either laughing or shaking their heads in disgust... Talking about the overall lack of discipline in the program and it was seen after Gaulden threw up the fingers in the AL game... they said any other coach would have kicked him off the team right there, but instead he was in on the next series... (Of course we all know any other coach except Saban, he'd have him right back in as well) It was really sad. I hope someone is going to show Currie this clip, as this was an embarrassment of the entire University...

They're not the same. They're not even close to being the same. You think Butch Jones can take a team to the Super Bowl with Colin Kapernick as his quarterback? Harbaugh put Stanford on the map and won 10 in his first 2 years at Michigan along with a New Year's Six bowl appearance. He'll probably win 9 this year in one of if not the toughest division in college football with like 4 returning starters. Butch Jones isn't close to being in Harbaugh's league.

Been away forever? Football hasn't seen some drastic change since he's been out.

Sustained success? So because the guy only made the playoffs FIVE times and has an above .500 record he didn't have sustained success? Might want to check into how difficult it is to have that amount of success in the NFL.

Not a single coach in any sport at the college or pro level would kick one of their best players off the team for flipping the bird to a hostile crowd.

Kind of like how Butch Stones threw out the stat earlier this year about how we were 18-4 or something like that in our last 22. Not a whole lot of context there. He started keeping track of it in the middle of the 2015 season I guess. Fire him.
