Even still.

Been away forever? Football hasn't seen some drastic change since he's been out.

Sustained success? So because the guy only made the playoffs FIVE times and has an above .500 record he didn't have sustained success? Might want to check into how difficult it is to have that amount of success in the NFL.

Eh, 5 winning seasons out of 11. I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but between his complete inexperience in recruiting and his likelihood of jumping to the NFL once he has some success here and realizes he hasn't seen his family more than once a month for years, I don't think he's a guaranteed surefire answer for our program long term like I think Frost or Mullen might be.

He had 6 winning seasons. 8 at .500 or better. That is really good.

I want to believe Gruden stuff, but I'm having a hard time actually picturing it.

Would be awesome and fun. But would he be in it for the long haul?

I keep thinking we're gonna be kicking ourselves if we let Scott Frost pass us by.

I'm just about to the point to where I'm wanting Frost or Mullen more than Gruden. If I had my pick of those 3, I honestly think I'd roll the dice on Frost.

If we can't get Gruden or Mullen, and have a shot at Frost but dont take it, we'll regret it.

His inexperience in recruiting won’t be an issue. He won’t have recruit as hard as Butch did, his name will attract the players and he would have a staff that will recruit. And the jumping to the NFL thing is an assumption. He could be in the NFL now if he really wanted.

Half of the active coaches today have better win %. Again, not slamming him as a bad option, just not in the camp of assuming he's far and away the best long term answer for a college program.

No problem. Hopefully one day we will actually enjoy that thing called 'success' again. And the mood will lighten as well as the conversation.

Hope so. Just want to be feared and respected again. We'll have an opportunity to get back to that here in a few weeks if they can actually make a decent hire. I'm not positive and I'm not negative, just don't know.

Would y'all be accept a loss if it meant CBJ was fired tonight, or a win and he coaches til the end of the year?
I'm not sure I can stomach another game watching him sulk on the sideline arms crossed and red faced!
Then again, the thought of 5,6,or 7 losses is nauseating!!

He really does look like at worst, a really solid coach... At best, a superstar in the making.

Outside of just his HC experience and success, the long list of high quality football coaches he's worked under and played for makes your jaw drop.

Here is my theory on this. Our AD isn’t being quiet because he sucks. We already have our guy and UF AD knows it. UGA trending up also. Mac opened the door by lying about fake death threats. UF knows it’s about to be left behind.

We already have our man IMO.

Go Vols

Here's my theory: they're better than us at this and are more proactive.

If we Get turned down by Mullen and Frost then there is a serious problem within our AD.

My worry is this is why Florida is being proactive. He either wants Mullen or Frost before we can get them. My fear is its Frost. My hope is he wants his boy Mullen

I would rather win and let him finish the year. He's gone either way. And losing to UK makes me nauseous.

Take the win, but I will say if I was forced to choose I would prefer to lose this game than Vandy. Can you imagine a two game losing streak to Vandy? I know that many here would disagree because they think he's a good guy, but it would completely marginalize everything he has done here to me, even though that is fading by the loss.

Florida 3/4 last football hires have been duds.
USC last 3 hires have been duds.
Lsu last hire was a dud.
Michigan last 2/3 have been duds

We’re not the only ones who have been making bad hires. Never a certainty you’ll upgrade with a new coach. Especially if you’re firing anyone somewhat successful like les or Mac

Honestly Kiffin is interesting to think about to me. He would have won huge here in my opinion. He did us very wrong though.

I don’t get why people think he “would have won huge here.” He did beat Georgia “huge” (which is always awesome), but he also dropped some real stinkers here, not to mention the off-field disaster he was in literally every respect that I can think of. But I guess he did win huge at USC, so it probably would have worked here too... oh wait.
