HAHA-- couldn't pay me enough. UT needs a fixer. Those guys are so indecisive they can't even decide what to order for lunch. Too conservative to try anything new. And too passive to actually make the call.

You're a pretty good fixer. You've already hired Gruden and fired Butch. Off to a pretty good start imo.

You guys should probably be beefing up your infrastructure for Gruden's recruiting updates. We are only a month away.

Doesn't matter if Gruden is a pipe dream and those arguing is true coaching prowess, one thing no one can argue is the instantaneous recruiting hype we would get for a min of two years... we would rack up with talent... then, if he can't coach, we still have a stocked lockerroom of talent.

Competent, disciplined football wins the east with recruits that Gruden can get. Don't even have to be spectacular.

This is what I thought would have happened with Kiffin in 2008.

If we Get turned down by Mullen and Frost then there is a serious problem within our AD.

I don't see how that means there's a serious problem. If he doesn't try there's a serious problem, but he can't force a coach to go where he doesn't want to go. Taking off the orange-colored glasses, there are plenty of reasons a top coach wouldn't come here given the alternatives.

I'd have fired Butch weeks ago. I still think he's week to week and could keep hanging on unless tonight gets ugly and forces Currie's hand. Good thing Taylor is playing. He and Gaulden might be the only dogs we have.

Damn, if JG could have half the speed and athleticism as Ta'Amu, the BACKUP at Ole Miss, we'd be in a better situation....

Hopefully a prospective coach will view Florida trying to rid of a guy that win East his first 2 years and is "trying" to give Butch every chance to save his job although that is for public perception than reality

Would be a positive for our AD that they aren't rushing a guy out of town

Stanford or Michigan were nowhere near championship level teams when he took them over.

If any coach had us finishing 12-1 in year 4 with a first pick QB returning the next season or delivered a NY6 bowl in year 2 Tennessee fans would be clamoring for a lifetime contract.

I'll give you that he had one impressive year. But only one. And even then he didn't win the championship, not even in his division. WE WANT CHAMPIONSHIPS! PLEASE.

It's not a hard deal to make. Gruden either wants to coach CFB or he doesn't. If he does, UT will make the money happen. If he doesn't, get in front on the next guy.

Same with Butch. Not a hard decision. It's not about bowl game monies or a mitigation clause-- it's about making the not-so-tough call to fire someone who continually blows opportunities to win. He's not quitting. So stop wasting time and fire him.

Make the decision. Make the deal. And let's start digging out of this pit.

Exactly. It ain’t rocket science...but it is a business decision.

I can't believe Currie truly believes Butch can survive this, regardless of what he's reportedly said. Many think Currie is a sharp operator which tells me he's got a plan and it's underway. I think he has his man and is just waiting on an opportune time to pull the trigger.
