Their secondary is legit too.

They lost half of their secondary from last year- an all conference CB who was drafted in the 4th round and a starting safety. They start 2 seniors and 2 sophomores. But I think I read that they have some injuries and may be inexperienced in the secondary.

Yep, that's one area we could have an advantage.

I gotcha. I also read that OU fans are concerned about this matchup though. We'll have to give Worley time to throw to exploit it though.

That's the key. If he is running for his life within a second of getting the snap, then the matchup advantage means zero.

Pig and North have big games and our O does better than expected. OK plays sloppy and has three turnovers giving Vols the short field. We go 100% in the redzone with Croom and North eating peanuts off the heads of the young OU secondary. The D bends but doesn't break a lot while forcing the prior mentioned turnovers. Medley hits the game winner and becomes and instalegend.

I think our defense needs to hold them to less than 27 points to have a chance.

Definitely. I'm not so sure we can get there ourselves though.

I'm having these nightmares of our runningbacks repeatedly getting dropped in the backfield.

In spite of my pessimism, I can't wait for the game. TN gets a chance to stand toe to toe with a great football team. Wins against the ____ States of the world are nice, but big boy football is where you are made.

I admire the people that are picking an upset. I will gladly eat crow if necessary with a side of potatoes and gravy please. Ranch dipping sauce.:)

When CBJ was at Cincinnati, he managed to keep a lot of games vs the big boys close. Granted, those big boys were probably not completely focused on them. We are more talented than any of those teams and I'm hoping that OU has chalked this up as a W. "Big Game Bob" in a lot of cases craps his pants when a game is tight in the 4th quarter. I don't think we win but I cannot go into a game thinking we are going to get crushed.

I am not going to make a prediction this week. I just want to sit back, and see how some of these youngsters respond in a hostile environment. Hopefully, we can be competitive and grow from this game. If somehow our defense can hold them to less than 27 points, then I think we will have a chance in the fourth quarter. That is a tall order, but it is what I think will have to take place. I think we have the playmakers to score somewhere between 24 to 30 points, even with suspect OL play.

Yeah, I'm gonna hold off on my prediction but I have a pretty good idea of what it's gonna be. Your # of points sounds about right though.

I believe the snowball's chance we have in Norman starts with coming out clicking on all cylinders and not that slow lackluster slop we saw against ASU. We went 3 and out and then allowed them to march to the 1st score. If we open like that it'll get ugly with noise and their confidence. We need to come out punching and settle in.

One thing is for sure they want to curb stomp us worse than any ooc in recent memory. We are the poster child SEC straw man for OOC opponents as of late. "See we whipped UT, SEC sucks." Whatever. I can't wait for this nightmare to be over.

OK 261 319

                Rushing Passing
UT 168 247

Arky ST 141 190

Arky ST 283 264

Mont ST 86 142

One thing I noticed is that OK's opponents other opponents put up about the same numbers yardage wise as OK did. It wasn't like OK did anything above and beyond what their lesser opponents did too. The opposing offenses were stifled against OK and then did well against their other opponents though. I am curious to see how OK comes out against UT Surely has more talent on both sides of the ball than Tulsa and La Tech.

All Stoops has done is trash talk the SEC. He will look for every chance he can to run this score up.

If our OLine looked even the slightest bit better then I would hope to see it at least be close. This game will be another Oregon type blowout. :(

Hopefully Stoops takes some poor thought out chances that blow up in his face and gives the Vols some scores. Some good breaks and lots of luck could give us a win.

OU hinting at breaking out alternate uniforms for this one.

Pretty funny that they are trying to hype this game up.

Maybe their luck will be the same as ours, when we broke out the alternate uniforms twice.

I wonder if Oklahoma's coaches are worried that their players are not fully focused on this game, since they are going to these extremes to hype the game up.

I doubt it. There is a lot of SEC hate out there, no matter what team you are. I am thinking it's because we are playing a night game on ABC...

This is probably the reason. If it was OK coming to Neyland, we would be doing the same thing.
