There's been a bit of discussion in this thread about fasting and circadian rhythms. I tried an experiment last week when I was on the road for business. Normally I feel depleted, exhausted, and jet lagged during and after cross country travel. Instead of trying to just carry on while being on a different time zone, I decided did intermittent fasting of 16-24 hours daily. I timed my dinner on the east coast the night before to coincide with dinnertime on the west coast, to break a 24 hour fast. I also timed the rest of my eating windows to be roughly 16-20 hours apart.
This is the first time I can remember not being jet lagged. I feel basically optimal today, with no decrease in performance. I also made sure to stay hydrated while supplementing magnesium and zinc. This is just ancedotal evidence, but I'm firmly in the circadian fasting camp now.
