Reece Davis wants Oregon

USC or Oregon at 1 loss would probably get in over us. I mean we're not Bama so they're not going to do us those favors to make sure it happens. Just win out and let it all shake out. Those teams have big games left. UT needs to beat the 3 teams they have left and see where that leaves us. If it's on the doorstep i'm good with it. 11-1 and probably get matched up with the big 10 title game loser. That would be a good game.

Not saying they intentionally played poorly. I am saying they only threw the ball 4 times in the second half. It’s a lot easier to defend the run when you know its coming. Everybody and there brother knew that watched the game Georgia was just eating clock. You don’t throw the ball to eat clock. So the run is easier to defend when you know it’s coming and load up the box. It’s not rocket science

They only threw it four times in the half because we put their offense in tough situations once we held them to the FG after the long drive where they threw it 3 times before we stopped them and forced the kick. They fumbled on play 1, so no chance to throw. Next drive they got a holding penalty that put the ball at their own 12 after we blew up a running play and made it second and long, in a monsoon, needing 21 yards for a first down. No one is going to pass it in that situation unless they are getting blown out and absolutely have to do it. The next drive they were dropped in the backfield for a 4 yard loss, then they passed it again and it was incomplete and they had to punt again, giving us the ball with a shot to make it a one score game with 3+ minutes to go. They next drive they were running out the clock. They ran 8 total plays in the last 17 minutes of the game. It wasn't because they didn't want to score. We played good defense and they made mistakes.

Utah and the Pac 12 title game can take care of Oregon.

Texas and Baylor can put a damper on TCU.

Plenty of options for TN to get in.

Agree that they have been fluffing Oregons feathers for a few weeks now. Nix has gotten more ink the past 3 weeks than he did for 4 years in Auburn.

No we won’t. We have the best resume in football with a loss to the number 1 team. We will be fine. We need to score 50 in these next few games to continue to make our case. We got it

In addition to having the best resume on the field, we played in three of the four highest rated TV games in 2022 so far. They have every reason to want us in the playoff. We've proven we can beat teams at that level of competition, we've proven we can do it away from Neyland with the win at Georgia and more people watch us doing it by far than they do any West Coast or even Midwest team. We doubled up viewership vs the Ohio State/Penn State game. The two biggest population states in the Big 10 got half the viewership that Tennessee vs Alabama got. Eyes on screens = big ad rates. We deliver that in droves.

Once again.. Eating clock was the only thing Kirby was interested in. I didn’t say they wanted to play poorly and I didn’t say they didn’t want to score. If they happen to score eating clock so be it. But the objective was to eat clock and let the defense do the job it had done for the whole game.

Dropping the vols 5 spots for a respectable loss to a top three team on the road is excessive, irresponsible and onerous. Resumes are what should drive the committee. Otherwise go back to the BCS!!!!

But they didn't eat clock, their last 4 drives were 10 seconds, 28 seconds, 2:40 and 2:50. They punted the ball to is with a chance to make it a one score game with nearly 5 minutes to go. If they could have scored 50, they would've done so.

Save your breath. They aren't going to see things our way. They want to believe that asking Bennett to pass is an automatic.... FIRST DOWN. And UGA could have played that card on any down, any distance. They just didn't want to. According to them, if you ain't passing... you ain't trying. And since our offense sucks, UGA wasn't trying.

They also want to believe that our offense would not have impacted the game on any field, in any conditions, and that our struggles had nothing to do with 8 false start penalties. They want to believe that UGA would have dialed up pressure on Hooker and gotten to him any time they wanted, but they chose to wait until the 2nd half just because. It doesn't matter that the sacks came in obvious passing situations (but again, false starts had nothing to do with it being obvious passing situation). Also, they want to believe that crowd noise had NOTHING to do with them being able to time the snap. They also want to believe that Hooker misses homerun throws 100% of the time and that we only got behind their defense 4 times because UGA wasn't concerned about Hooker connecting on those throws.

All that is just excuses. Home field advantage isn't real. Playing on a neutral field wouldn't change a thing.

Another factor, going into the game vs Georgia there was only an 8 percent chance that any team in college football would have been 8-0 with our schedule. I'd imagine that would drop to about 2 percent after going on the road to Georgia. It's crazy that our only shot at the playoff according to some "experts" is to do what no other team in America would be expected to do and would have virtually no chance of doing it.

Davis is a pill and he’s got the exact same resume as any college football fan. Not sure his opinion rises to the level of an expert. Just another media guy lookin for attention. Guess his mother didn’t hold him enough when he was younger

At the end of the day , we should have showed up in Athens and won . So if it’s a screw job, then it’s on the team . Should have won .

Reece and almost all of the pundits on ESPN are complete tools! Would literally rather masturbate with a cheese grater than listen to their incoherent drivel.

Lmao…. Ok….Georgia held Tennessee to 6 POINTS. I will spell it out Six points. 4 minutes to go in the game and Tennessee scores a garbage touchdown. Kirby trusted his defense to do what it had done for 56 mins prior to that. And asked his offense to just eat clock. Anybody not wearing orange shades could see that.

The record book shows 27-13. Nothing else matters.

I don't know why these guys won't just come out and say what they mean. I feel like Reece is really saying, "I'd rather have a Pac team as opposed to a second SEC team." That's a completely reasonable opinion for him to have, but when he actually says, "Oregon's loss and Tennessee's loss are equivalent." Well, that just doesn't make any sense. Just say you'd rather see a Pac team in the 4th slot, I disagree, but I'll respect it way more.

Just completely ignored us in opening segment. Prepare for the worst case scenario
