Why isn't it a history book?

Why isn't it a guide book?

Why do you want to limit the power of the bible?

I'm not limiting anything, but trying to downplay the Bible to a history book for learning for non-believers, is something that believers shouldn't even consider a rational thought. Mainly, because of what it truly means to us. Most that learn what is in the Bible, who aren't believers, care more about mocking Christians than they do about applying anything in there to their lives. So, if you don't believe the things in the Bible happened the way they did, and there is a spiritual side to it, then it means nothing to the non-believer, other than offering a history guide to the Jews, but even then, do the non-believers accept the parting of the Red Sea??

No because it was the sea of reeds.............

I dunno, I think you limit the value of the bible as a book.

I got to ask this, sorry, But is it amazing when Jack uses his gun to kill the bad guys? I had to.

Nope.

I weep, actually.

I enjoy the show for the geo-political aspects.

It was more entertaining when David/Wayne Palmer was on the show.

The conniving Charles Logan has made a reappearance.

Regardless, I play video games where I kill people, but that doesn't apply to reality.

I don't think Thomas Jefferson would agree with that.

Have you ever heard of 'The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth?'

I could care less what he wrote about Jesus honestly, unless it's praising him for being his Lord and Savior. Other than that, it's not important to me, and shouldn't be important to other believers, IMO.

A lot of non believers or borderline believers find the bible fascinating.................

I don't care what a non believer uses it as.... a history book, a piece of literature... a book of poetry........ the seed is being planted.

Why shouldn't it be important to other believers...???????????

You don't honestly believe that is a point for planting a seed?

But if that seed is not planted in the ground, it doesn't ever sprout upwards. If people aren't willing to accept it as more than just a history book, then they aren't going to be able to accept it as a spiritual guide book either. And the latter is MUCH more important.

Planting the seed is up to us, the results are a God thing.

Having a spiritual conversation and witnessing is what plants the seed. If a person TRULY goes into reading the Bible without even the slightest thought that there is a true spiritual element that can't understand, then it's not being read at all. Words are just words, unless you understand the meaning behind them.

Soup beans before wed prayer meeting?

HaHa, NO, Remember after the resurrection, the two men walking down the road discussing the day and Jesus came to them. They didn't recognize him, but after they did, they said, "did not our hearts burn within us". Heavenly Heart Burn.
