Rep. Giffords of Arizona shot

It is an opinion you've been hawking for years.

The right wing fringe has been escalating ever since Obama was elected. I don't see how anyone could argue against it.

I'll repost this since it was largely ignored last time.

Officials said they were evaluating an antigovernment manifesto posted on the Internet earlier Thursday, signed "Joe Stack," which suggested he planned the crash. "Violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer," the author wrote toward the end of a tirade against the IRS posted at 9:12 a.m. on a Web site registered to Mr. Stack.

A city cab driver is in the hospital after being stabbed by a passenger who allegedly asked if he was Muslim, police tell NY1.
Investigators with the New York City Police Department say it all began Monday night when a 21-year-old man hailed a cab at 24th Street and Second Avenue in Manhattan.

Police say the passenger asked the driver, "Are you Muslim?" When the driver said yes the passenger pulled a knife and slashed him in the throat, arm and lip.

Raymond Franklin Peake III told investigators that "he would kill to defend his country and he was stealing weapons to defend his country," court documents read.
The Hampden Township man is in Cumberland County Prison without bail after being charged with homicide Saturday. Police said one of the weapons Peake, 64, stole resulted in the July 21 shooting death of lawyer Todd Getgen, 42, of Enola.

A 45-year-old parolee, described by his mother as angry at left-wing politicians, opened fire on California Highway Patrol officers on an Oakland freeway early Sunday and was hit by return fire while wearing body armor, authorities said.
She said her son, who had been a carpenter and a cabinetmaker before his imprisonment, was angry about his unemployment and about "what's happening to our country."

Williams watched the news on television and was upset by "the way Congress was railroading through all these left-wing agenda items," his mother said.

Investigators say the Kanes shot and killed West Memphis Police Officers Brandon Paudert and Bill Evans during a traffic stop along I-40 on Thursday, May 20, 2010. Crittenden County Sheriff Richard Busby and his Chief Deputy W.A. Wren were also injured in a shootout that followed in the West Memphis Walmart parking lot, ending with both suspects shot to death.

Kane and his son, by all accounts, didn't trust the U.S. Government. They didn't respect it, didn't think the laws that apply to the citizens in this country applied to them.

Law enforcement authorities are investigating the discovery of a cut propane gas line at the Virginia home of Rep. Thomas Perriello’s (D-Va.) brother, whose address was targeted by tea party activists angry at the congressman’s vote for the health care bill.

An aide to the congressman confirmed to POLITICO that a line to a propane tank behind his brother's home near Charlottesville had been sliced.

Authorities say Stone was one of two sons of David Brian Stone, 45, the alleged ringleader of the Christian militia group called Hutaree.

The anti-government militia allegedly plotted to kill law enforcement officers with improvised explosive devices and projectiles before being foiled by FBI raids that started Sunday in three states that netted nine members of an extremist group, federal authorities said today.

Four members of David Stone's family including his wife, Tina Stone, 44, and his two adult sons allegedly conspired with five other members of the fringe Christian militia group to kill a Michigan law enforcement officer and then ambush the officer's colleagues who would have gathered for the funeral, according to court documents.

The gun metaphors are dumb, because it opens yourself up for criticism.

Palin is just too dumb to realize she makes it easy for the media to blame her.

I don't think this guy did anything because of rhetoric, but why even put yourself in a position to be blamed?

BREAKING NEWS!

Cocker Spaniel Run Over In Front of My House

I call for a full investigation of the USPS.

The right wing fringe has been escalating ever since Obama was elected. I don't see how anyone could argue against it.

you conveniently left out Amy Bishop, Nidal Hasan, and a host of others.

you also fail to mention that every Presidential assassin throughout American history has been a left-wing zealot

so keep up your idiocy by ascribing random acts of politically motivated violence only to the right wing.

The far-left is equally bad, if not worse. I'd rather have some talking head being a jerk than a bunch of lefty whack-jobs out burning cars and smashing windows.

I have about the same use for either side...very little.

I don't think this is a product of rhetoric, though

Have you completely lost the plot?

Freakin' Canadians burn cars after a hockey game! You'd rather have broken windows and a burned car than 9 dead bodies on the street!!!!!!????!!!!!!!

And we want to throw stones at WONJs?

I agree with you, bpvol, and Geraldo on this issue. The Sheriff should keep his opinions to himself at this point in time.

Why should the sheriff keep his opinions to himself?

Why? Is it a free country or not?

I've read this over and over now in this thread. It's symptomatic of the "disciplined minds" of the management class in this free (sic) country.

The sheriff and others have evidently been the target of continuous, continuous violent threats, and now someone has made good on it with lethal violence. He has every right to state his opinion, and he absolutely has that right as sheriff of Pima Co.

 We really are headed to the abyss.

I'm only calling you out LG because you seem to be a voice of reason.

The merits of illegal immigration are meaningless to the discussion. The point is a Sheriff deciding which laws he will enforce and which he will not. Then complaining about difficulties governing.

Damn those Founding Fathers.....

Damn those Underground Railroaders....

:ermm:

Gibbs - where do you get this stuff? I think you may actually have a mental disorder. You're all over the place. We're talking some serious left-field mumbo jumbo here. And, then you start talking about breaking people who are quite obviously more put together than you've ever conveyed yourself to be on this forum. Weird.

You would be wrong re: the bold above.

What "left-field" stuff are you talking about exactly?

I have always found it hilarious that discussing the real world generally elicits a "mumbo-jumbo" response. When confronted with facts from the real world, generally no real answers.

I suppose, TennTrad, since you couldn't find any "mumbo-jumbo" it was you who had a brief bout with delusions?

ignored because it really doesn't make any point besides they were all anti-govt. I guess this makes anarchists fans of the GOP/Tea Party? You're trying to assign blame where there is none. Just like the guy in AZ, many of these people are just not right in the head

Some of your posts sound like the Unabommer after a joint. Stop with the "I'm enlightened; you're not" routine.

Comparing the Sheriff's actions to either of those groups is laughable. He is a Democrat condemning criticism of his party.

On the other hand a comparison could be made between the Founding Fathers and the principles of the Tea Partiers’. You know, those people you and LG are criticizing.

Dunno. Never read it.

I probably wouldn't have to work too hard to find a lot of posts on this site having a certain Jared Loughner ring to them. Might want to be careful about throwing stones in glass houses, GAVol.

It's not about being enlightened. TNTrad was rude, and, as predicted, couldn't back up his claims.

Where have I criticized the Tea Party?

Are you suggesting they can foment an armed struggle against the US or AZ government?

My point regarding the FFs and the URs is perfectly analogous to your point about the sheriff.

It's sad how political these things get. For once, forget who is to blame and remember the people that got either killed or injured. There are parents that just lost their 9 year old daughter, it's not really the time to figure out who is to blame for this. The gun man was a nut job it's as simple as that.

Agreed . . . At least let the funerals happen before playing the predictable blame game.

Given that he's obviously mentally ill, what punishment should Jared receive if and when convicted by a jury?

Hinkley provides some precedent. I would imagine life in prison. They'll set parole, but he will never see the light of day.
