I dont think that you get the Sheriff was taking a chance to make a political statement about the Arizona Immigration Law. That is as political a statement as I have seen.

It is ridiculous for someone involved in the investigation of a mass murder to hold a press conference and make a definitive statement about motive before the assailant has even spoken a word.
