btw i just saw it reported that gifford was once a republican and switched parties. clearly a left winger that the tea party would want killed.

I am somewhat fascinated that the Republicans on this board are now trying to distance themselves from the Right-wing! This tragedy has touched a nerve. The 800lbs gorilla has trod on a few feet.

crazy people don't need direction to do crazy things. i wonder how many people arguing beck and all are responsible have actually had experience with people with mental disorders.

how is it distancing myself from teh right wing by saying i think people can kill someone at a poltical event for reasons other than politics?

Records with the Secretary of State's office show that a Maurice Scwenkler was paid to go door to door in a Colorado House district in 2008 by the Colorado Citizens Coalition. That's a 527 organization that spent money on behalf of mostly democratic candiates.

Unlike some of the Liberals who look up to Europe more than their own country

No it doesn't. He got paid to canvas. It as an easy summer job for a high school kid. Who knows how he felt about it.

How are you able to deduce his political beliefs from that? While refusing to acknowledge all available evidence (including the assassin's voter registration) on the Arizona shooter?

because I remember the whole story and posted one of the first links I found. Google the name if you are so inclined. The vandalism was blamed on right-wing fanatics at that time too. Don't know how many of those are hired to "canvas" for Dem orgs but I could ballpark it

I agree. The tragedy itself (the actual murder) is being sold short by those looking for the political gain from it.
