Republican Nomination for President

Who would you vote for to run for President from the Republican Party?

It's just aggregate polling. I feel it could be better if they weighted sample sizes and accounted for historic polling biases, i.e. PPP going left, Fox News going right, etc.

Santorum is a gaffe a minute

Rick Santorum thinks California universities don’t teach American history | Politics Blog | an SFGate.com blog

“I was just reading something last night from the state of California. And that the California universities — I think it’s seven or eight of the California system of universities — don’t even teach an American history course. It’s not even available to be taught.”

All 23 CSU campuses offer a variety of American history courses, said CSU spokesman Mike Uhlenkamp. Students are required to take several of those courses or test out of them in order to graduate.
And the nine undergraduate UC campuses (Berkeley, Irvine, San Diego, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, Davis, Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara) offer the courses and have a similar graduation requirement.

still wondering who would vote for this guy

his popularity is one of the strangest things I've ever seen. His candidacy is seemingly artificial and based solely on the fact that he's merely there as an alternative. I can understand maybe why some might agree with some of his views, but for the life of me I don't see how you can watch him on the campaign trail and think he's Presidential material.

He reminds me of Sarah Palin with a penis. I loved on Jon Stewart lastnight when he shows her during the same interview talk about Obama's "failed socialist policies", and then she goes on to talk about how things have gotten better for "Wall-street".

Clearly she doesn't understand what the word socialism means.

So? Probably not gonna win, and even if he does we'll have more of the same. The good news is he's an "R".

How "R" is he? I guess that depends on the day of the week. The man has no conviction, he will say anything necessary to get elected. Pathetic.

healthcare aside, look at Romney's record as governor of Mass. and tell me again how he is going to be no different than Obama

What will Romney do to change the course has been headed down for the past few decades. He's another big government politician, just like every president we've had for the last 100 years or so.

This country needs dramatic change, and Romney isn't the man to make it.

Tell me how he is going to be different. He has no interest in cutting spending. He claims he is, but then he goes on to talk about expanding on military/war spending, medicare, etc.

Q: Where are the cuts going to come from?
A: What cuts?

Reigning in the budget should be priority #1, priority #2, and priority #3. Mitt doesn't care about it at all, which is why I'm saying we'll have more of the same.

What's so great about his record as governor of Mass.?
Is it that he raised taxes, or that he cut spending on higher education?

We all trashed talked Obama's short voting record, yet this guy has 8 less years of experience than Obama did. He was a governor for 4 years! That's it, 4 years. That's his entire political career. No wonder there are so many opinions on Romney's stances, he has no voting record to confirm anything, and can't complete a sentence without contradicting himself.
Nominating this man is a sad joke. We can only hope that a real candidate emerges in 2016

The difference is that Romney actually has a record of running things.
