i went to school with a girl who was in government housing, she told me how much she hated it. she graduated dental tech school and i'll never forget how happy and relieved she was when got her job was able to get an apartment for her and her daughter. she told me so many stories on how bad the gov housing was. this was in chattanooga.

i couldn't imagine why people would just settle for that lifestyle.

I'd prefer not to pay for it all. If someone wants to be educated or wants their children to be then they should take full responsibility for the education.

The problem with that sign is that it should actually be for public schoolers. Picking up your dry cleaning or checking out at the grocery store with a 17 year old in charge will tell you plenty about how well public schoolers communicate and interact.

I went to a public high school in which the average student had a higher SAT score than the average UT student.

Great. Think your public school is typical? I'd bet home schooler SAT scores on average are better than that of the average SAT score from public schools.

I get some of that. But part of their weirdness is the fact that so many of them can complete a sentence. The fact that they don't know the title of Beyonce's newest album creates a stigma about them.

I suppose that can be true sometimes. All the home school kids I knew were just strange and completely socially inept. The ones I knew came to take art and a couple of other subjects with the public school kids.
