Reg season matters for seeding, I've always said that.
And that's not true, anyone who doesn't think Barnes walks on water gets hate here.

If he won in March and lost tonight, nobody would care that much. It's crappy loss but it's not a season ender and ultimately may mean nothing at all. If we won tonight and we still lost before the Elite 8, people would still give him hate.

To further drive home this point, how many people remember our Elite 8 year that we got b-slapped by a USC team that ended 16-14? That we got swept by Vandy? That we went 1-2 against UK with the second loss being by almost 30 in the SECT? That we were waxed at Georgia, who ended up 14-17? Nobody. Had we not made the E8, sure people would have said the year was a bust, especially if we had lost the first weekend.

I mean, I get that the SEC regular season title may be out of reach now, but even that isn’t guaranteed. Alabama showed in their blowout loss to OUthat they’re prone to bad nights. Very possible they lose a couple of games the rest of the way. So what was really on the line last night aside from a number 2 ranking? Most Barnes bashers have said many times regular season rankings don’t matter, so again, what was on the line last night in the grand scheme of things?

The reality is that some of our fans are unable to deviate from the football way of thinking. You can lose 6 or - 8 regular season games in basketball and still end up having a great season.

Then we have some who for some reason have a huge grudge agains Rick Barnes, a man who is clearly one of the two or three best coaches we’ve ever had. It’s pretty bizarre.

If so, then where are your posts praising CRB and team for positioning us as of now for very high seed this year?

I would wait for you to bump them all but I know they don't exist

So, we aren't in position for a high seed right now which, as you said, matters?

We all see how much it "matters" to you in that you pick and choose what to focus on that suits your disdain for the coach and this team.

You are demonstrating Olympic level mental gymnastics to avoid the reality we are a Top 10 team vying for a very high seed as you call CRB a clown for a road loss against a Top 10 defensive team in a classic trap game.

Stick to reasonable arguments like CRB needs to get past the S16 in March which is a valid critique and more than fair to expect.

TN fans should be happy to be in contention. Nobody is saying “just”. It’s ridiculous to be so miserable about the current state of the program. TN has only been to 8x Sweet 16s in its basketball history. But a lot of clowns want to label the program where it is now as a failure. SMDH. Selection Sunday was so much more exciting when TN was in the middle of the Bubble Watch.
