This is VN, did you really expect anything different? His opening post had set up written all over it. VN posters are professionals and never miss an opportunity like that. But it is a good thread.

Here’s a question….even though I normally don’t respond to trolls. Strictly from a financial perspective - was our financial ROI better in Barnes’ years with a $5MM salary or was the b-ball athletic department financially better under Buzz with a lesser salary? It isn’t about the cost of a salary….it’s all about the investment and the return on that investment. And I’m not even talking about the massive on court performance improvement…..

Which is exactly what the carnival barkers protesting his salary continually fail to realize. It really is basic finance.

We still lacked one thing. A post that could get us a basket when needed. No go to guy. That’s the reason we couldn’t score when the outside shots weren’t falling. You could say that about every game they lost.

Those don’t grow on trees, high school players tend to develop low post players into shooting guards because of AAU ball.

how about we wait and see who we fill the last 4 spots with? say we get phillips, collins, key, and another guy. will the upcoming season still be a disaster? let’s just wait and see what happens, before we start panicking.

Guess anyone with a different opinion from rainbow and sunshine fair weather fans gets banned. Is this board North Korea or something?? Can’t say anything remotely contradictory without being called a troll or banned

Ok, I’ve not posted on this thread because I’ve thought it was completely ridiculous so here goes.
1. Vescovi our best scorer and 3 point shooter is back more than likely.
2. JJJ who came into his own and shot what 35% or better from 3 in SEC play is back.
3. The best point guard we’ve had in a while other than chandler ZZ is back.
4. ON who started playing so well towards the end of the year is back. He’s a guy who can beat you inside or outside, and he’s a solid rebounder.
5. Guys like Powell and Mashack are in there 2nd season under Barnes and should improve drastically. Powell can fill it up when he is confident.
6. Uros Plavsic and Jonas Aidoo are solid big men either starting or coming off the bench, and Aidoo has arguably the highest ceiling of any player on our squad.
7. We are in on guys like Collins, Key, Phillips, Reneau, and Pack. Land Collins, Key, and Phillips and I consider that a pretty big win.
8. BJ Edwards is no freaking slouch and will play a big role as a freshman IMO.

So what I’m getting at here is there is so much quality senior leadership on this squad, and it’s a team that won a championship. They know how to lead and how to play in the SEC. We lost Q, VBjr, Huntley-Hatfield, and Tamba who, last time I checked, didn’t contribute much to this years team. HH did at times but his bad attitude was clear to see, and the fact that he never bought in made it hard for him to be a consistent player for us. We knew Chandler was going to leave, so that’s the offensive and defensive production that we are going to have to replace. Not any of the other guys really just chandler. I don’t know if y’all forgot about Zakai but I certainly haven’t, and I think he will pick up a lot of the slack with chandler leaving. Get another PG to take some of the pressure off(Collins), a guy who can come in and score and play physically(Key), a guy who can be a freshman phenom in Phillips and this is still an absolutely solid team. Not to mention BJ Edwards who everyone seems to be forgetting about. So, enough of this horrible team garbage. I’ve had enough of it.
