Riley Ferguson Update

CBJ will determine whether he will return or not. Everything else is pure speculation. I trust CBJ will do what is best for both parties.

Do we really want a qb that stood the coaches up? We atleast know he was extremely late if he did show up to the meeting because it was reported CBJ was waiting for him and he hadn't showed. That doesn't sound like someone that is a loss in my book.

An if all the not wanting to watch film is true.... Just sounds like he would be more drama than anything else. IMO.

Great idea. Form an opinion and share it based on internet rumors. :eek:hmy:

As talented as this young man is if he lacks the mental toughness and work ethic then you have another Bray. If he were to put in the same effort as Worley and Dobbs such as going to camps, studying film and gaining the weight he needed he would probably hands down win the job. Since he didn't do those things that shows a lack of mental toughness and work ethic and leading by example. If you're homesick in Tennessee when your family lives in South Carolina that's a red flag. Your mental game will make or break you.

It's all just a plot to get Gibson to commit soon :)

After all the DRAMA I WOULD be surprised if he stays....but regardless of what he does...the question MUST be ask....Do you really want your quarterback (the undeniable face of any program) entering this type of drama???? The unquestionable answer is....of course not....Can he still be an effective leader on our team??? That's for CBJ to decide....

Why do people keep assuming that? Riley Ferguson's smaller, slower, less intelligent, and less experienced than Joshua Dobbs, and he was a mistake-prone disaster in live action settings throughout spring (I'm not just talking about the Orange & White game either).

Ferguson may look good throwing passes in shorts, but that doesn't make him a better or even more talented quarterback than Worley or Dobbs. Arm strength is only one small part of the natural "talent" needed to play quarterback.

Even if he where to come back...?? We don't need a flip floppy kid who's unwilling to put in the work. If his head pops out of his arse "majically" by monday .....he should take that arse to a "closer to HS type of gig"....Not the SEC/D1. Good Luck RF.....but bye with the more problems you bring....we got enough problems

Maybe this will act as a wake up call for Ferguson. Makes him realize the commitment it takes to be a starting QB in the toughest conference in college football.

I hope so. Maybe let him back and drop him to the bottom of the depth chart or something, teach him a lesson.

It is a fault of my own, but bratty attitudes make me angry. I find it much easier to forgive a guy who got into a fight at a club, smoked some weed, or was drinking underage, but this entitlement stuff.....it really grinds me up.

He was already close to the bottom of the depth chart. Hence, the decision to leave :lolabove::lolabove:

I'd like him to stay. This is the year he can get some playing time and show em what he has..

It's sad how so many people who have never played college football think it's ok to sit behind their computers and be so judgemental of a 19 y/o kid. Riley isn't the first player to go through this sort of thing at UT and he won't be the last. Butch should have not said anything concerning Riley until a final decision was made.
