Rob Lewis expects Stokes and McRae to return...

That's definitely the dumbest thing I've heard. If the NCAA wants to keep the players around simply implement the if you enroll in college you have have to stay 3 years rule or you can go straight from college. They already have the dumbest rules and violations that I have ever seen. I can honestly start seeing more players going overseas a year or just not attending school a year and going to the pros.

Read this article, very good breakdown of it...

DraftExpress: Testing the NBA Draft Waters in 2013

Bruin, I'm not sure what Hubbs said, but I would be surprised by this...stokes is known as having one of the best work ethics on the team. The guy is in the gym more than anybody else, there's a lot of things you could probably criticize him for, but work ethc isn't one of them.

He was known for working out all of the time in high school, let alone college. I know who his personal trainer was- same one as Austin Nichols. Don't know about basketball practice, but the kid is always doing something to get better or in better shape.

Guy told me today he is about 80% sure that Stokes missed the workout because he was with some people going over his draft stock.

Same guy who said Hale was a silent? I mean c'mon, didn't expect us to forget that did you?

Nah, lol. I never said it was true, I just said I knew him and I knew he played with Shannon. Apparently Heather Harrington interviewed Stokes about it today.

It was about him meeting with scouts or whoever. So i'm guessing the whole missed workout thing might have been brought up.

Gotcha, if you find the interview mind linking it, looked but no luck...

One thing I will say, I don't like the fact that it seems a lot of kids I thought would go are returning. Poythress, young, Stein, macadoo, smart...obviously many more, but every kid that returns who's ahead of Stokes, it just bumps him one spot up. That could be part of the hold up, seeing who else stays/goes.

I agree when I saw that Smart was staying my jaw dropped, Next year will be the deepest draft class since 03.

Hmm... Is it LEGAL for a person to say that he's coming back to school and then have a "change of heart" to declare to NBA right before deadline?

Also, I'm starting to believe CCM won't know until April 28th, and the Rawane Ndiaye offer is some sort of security for Stokes.

And if Stokes comes back? Then all of sudden we hear that Yemi transfers.

Bottom line.. We won't know what the deal is until the 28th.

I'd have serious doubts about next season if that was the plan.
I think we'll start getting a picture Thursday after sit downs are over.

My guess as well. The yemi leaving seems to probably be true, here's my take on why. I honestly don't think stokes has made a decision, therefore the staff doesn't know. I believe they both have a good idea he's going to return, but he's still probably gathering some information, so you never know until it's announced. I don't think theyd have taken Ndiaye if Stokes and Yemi were both returning, that'd really make no sense...so my guess is yemi is gone regardless. If stokes happens to declare, you may see us make a strong push for a transfer that can play immediately.

But you have to ask yourself this question: Why are they not currently or have been recruiting another big guy that can play immediately if indeed both players leave? I havent been hearing other names. I would be very surprised if CCM starts recruiting after the fact.

I'm with the crowd that yemi being at workouts is not a good sign that he is leaving bc of his own decision.

"Ndiaye's commitment and subsequent signing made less sense on the surface, but as we've mentioned on the board a few times, there are some persistent rumblings about that Yemi Makanjuola is looking to transfer at the end of the semester. Tennessee hasn't released anything along those lines as of yet, but there's enough consistent buzz about it that it seems a real possibility.

If that turns out to be the case, that will still leave the Vols one over the scholarship limit counting the current signees and the returning players. As of now the strong feeling here is that the Vols will get down to 13 by eventually parting ways with Travon Landry, or sending him to prep school for a fifth year."

I find it interesting that there's no mention of Stokes leaving as a possible way to get down to 13 scholarships.

The longer Stokes holds out the more I think that he could bolt. Too many guys in front of him returning this year. He may just say F it and lets do this. Unfortunately, I think he waits until the last day to determine. He probably got a list and crossing out the names of each one that comes out that stays. He might have a number and if he reaches, then maybe he goes. Frustrating.

Very possible.

Something to think about. If Weezy couldnt make it at 6'9 with a much more refined post game and a respectable jump shot to go with it how is Stokes going to make it at 6'8 with a mediocre post game and no jump shot? I'm just sayin.

They are really 2 different type players. Stokes is a banger. Some teams look for that. He will get down in the post and do the dirty work. He will probably be a "come off the bench" guy if he gets a shot in the NBA. If Stokes had Weezy's outside shooting or if Weezy was as physical as Stokes, then both would be easliy first round picks.

Chism was really 6'7 and not as strong in the post. He was a tweener without enough speed or ball handling for the NBA. I think he could have contributed to a team personally though.
