Rob Lewis expects Stokes and McRae to return...

Jarnell has Econ at 9am on MWF, and I'm fairly sure he doesn't have an 8am before because he's usually somewhat late.

EDIT: quoted wrong thing...but ah well

Your sure he doesn't have a class before BECAUSE he's somewhat late? Wouldn't being a little late make you think he has a prior class?

Also, if workout was 8am and he has class at 9 like you said, he doesn't exactly have time to attend a workout...was he in class yesterday?

If you think there isn't a correlation between the two you have the same character flaw. Men of character show up on time for whatever is required of them. Since spring break stokes has stayed at home for multiple days missing class attending nba games, misses workouts, and is habitually late for class. Red flags!!

There's ALOT of assumptions in that post

Dont think he would set up a class before that he cant make it to another class....but regardless this is alot of convo over one pic LOL

Probably true...going off a 9am class though, I wouldn't think he'd be at a 8am workout, do you? So if he was at the 9am class yesterday then that would explain why he wasn't at yesterdays workout IMO.

You should know by now, it's the VN way

It's possible, I just assume that if he had a class before then he'd usually show up around the same time each day. Having an 8am workout though sure would be a rush.

I'm not sure. D'montre comes everyday on time though! For a little plus side to this haha.

I laugh that we are making a big deal over a pic....I think its more of a concern that Yemi(if rumors are true) was there than Stokes not being there....There are numerous reasons for him to possibly miss one workout. If I was dating IZZY, I know why I would have missed or been late to the workout LOL

Not achieving one's potential and character flaw is far from the same thing. I would thing only about 1 % if that many people achieve their full potential. That does not mean they have character flaws.

Of those 1% that do achieve their full potential, how many do so with character flaws especially ones regarding laziness???

That's an easy answer. Hubbs has said stokes needs a better work ethic and now we have a group on here defending his laziness by stating its just normal college behavior. Sorry all these things add up to me as red flags to his character but then again I don't think everything orange is always perfect and can't be improved.

I think Richardson has the same class, but I may be wrong. Was he at workouts?

So...was Jarnell there yesterday? What about dmontre?

This is getting eerily similar to the "golden is mentally weak" posts lol

Underachieving teams have issues. It's not rocket science

To reach that conclusion, you have to believe last years team underachieved. While frustrating at times, I think last years team did well considering the talent they had and Maymon's injury. The roster has fundamental flaws with it. I also am concerned as to whether CCM is really moving in the right direction to fix those flaw. However, I don't think Golden's "weak mind", Stokes' arrival time to class, or any other random issue players may have (does McRae not like his food to touch on his plate, or maybe Richardson only showers on odd numbered dates) causes as big a problem as you would like to think.

I remember when Derrick Rose was at Memphis, some of the players made fun of him because his diet consisted mostly of candy. Just candy. Based on your world view that would show a lack of dietary discipline (not taking care of his body) and thus a lack of character or some other such nonsense. These guys are kids. Showing up late for college classes is almost a right of passage. To turn it into some type of character flaw is reaching.

Some might say that a grown man passing judgement on 19 year old strangers in a public forum is a character flaw. Just saying.

Does it concern you that hubbs has publically said stokes has work ethic issues??

Could that effect the outcome of winning 1 more game??

Yes one more win makes the difference between underachieving or not.

Seems plenty fair to discuss why we haven't been able to win that 1 more game the past two years. And yes many times the answer to that problem has nothing to do with physical mistakes made on gamedays and if you don't understand that your knowledge of team athletics is severely lacking.

A person might say that being unable to make your point without insulting or belittle a person is a character flaw. Or is that just a tool of management?

And Hubbs, while a good listen as I drive home on Thursday, isn't the be all and end all to college sports. Billy Donavon raved about Stokes during the summer. I'll take his opinion over Hubb's opinion.

I think the problem lies with you trying to draw a parallel between tardiness to a class and work ethic?

Kids have to learn to be responsible, and many don't learn until they get to college. I know I didn't. Stokes is still a freshman in college sans his one semester last year. He's likely immature like most college freshman.

It's a stretch to say his being late to class is a character flaw, and just as much a stretch to use Hubbs' comments about his work ethic as proof. The two are just as likely to be mutually exclusive, as to not be.

Very fair point if that was the only thing but clearly its not. Hubbs stating its an issue is the biggest along with not returning from spring break, missing work outs, and now this. It's about all these issues wrapped into one not just being habitually late to class.
