Again the people who are talking about boycotting Athens are a little off base. This issue is about the "Athens Chamber of Commerce" minimal research(such as reading this thread) would show that there are over 500 businesses from all across the state who are members of this COC. These businesses are joining now to show support for the COC and the Alabama football program. They are attempting to further penetrate our state with radio ads and billboards celebrating Alabama's football program and coach. They are attempting to make further inroads inside our border in whatever way they can. This is war in a figurative sense. The Tennessee fans who ok with this need a wake up call. We give them an inch they will take a mile. Next year it will be another town, more billboards, more radio ads, more celebration of this little angry man.
How?
Again, in every way. This guy is only relevant because he is Alabama's football coach. If this guy won national titles at Washington no one would care negatively or positively. This latest publicity stunt in the Chattanooga media is designed to draw more businesses to join this Chamber of Commerce in support of the Alabama Football program. They have calculated the risk vs reward and determined that the reward of publicity and new businesses will outweigh the boycott. We must show them how wrong they are.
