Robert Gillespie hired as new RB Coach

Disagree about Ainge. Ainge has more inside connections than Hubbs. Brent is the best around but when it comes to inside info on former players I take Ainge all day and Graham deserved to get bashed. Imagine if Jones had let Graham go what the outcry would have been. Its obvious Jones is a relentless worker and Grahams 2 bosses Spurrier and Dooley were not 12all hr a day guys. Just sayn...

Ainge is full of sh-t. And no he's not more credible than Hubbs, I don't care if he is an ex-Vol. You're full of sh-t too. You cry like a lil school girl every time someone disagrees with you.

Improved RBs, top recruiter on the staff this past season, yeah, I'm saying he did his job pretty damn well, and he was doing it at an SEC school, not at a school in a second rate conference. He did it well enough for FSU to offer him a better contract.

You have to consider the staff when taking in that bolded portion.

He's good luck for us :)

50% of the time, yes. :)

Gillespie sealed the '99 game with a late first down, and he was on the field when Gaffney made that miraculous one-handed catch with 7 UT defenders draped all over him.

This much is true, Gillespie knows more than any other coach on CBJ's staff how crazy Neyland Stadium used to be, and you better believe he'll share stories of '98 and '01 with recruits.

That's a big plus for you guys.

So is the strong recruiting and track record of developing gifted running backs out of spread offenses. I like this hire and think he makes a strong impact quickly.

Since Florida is the prime recruiting ground in the country; I say this could be really great. I expect a couple RBs from Gatorland next Feb.

YES. Running the same offense; he could actually be a better fit than JG. I imagine he picked up a play or two from the Offensive Genius; too.

fyp

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Gillespie was a freshman at UF in '98 and a senior in '01.

He was on the field for two of the biggest wins in UT football history.

That's hard to believe. Seems like yesterday..time flies. I like the hire.

Thats stupid because he did it with Not-SEC talent with Not-SEC resources and having to sell Cincinnati on kids, not Tennessee

As for Dooley beating him, A healthy Tennessee team with Darick, Justin and Tyler beat Cincinnatti. No matter the coach that should happen every time.

What has Graham done as a coach to earn this high high regard. Look, i get hes a very good coach, and he played here, but that doesnt mean he is the best RB coach in the world.

I dont agree with your negative outlook also, Butch has done 100x more than Dooley did before he came here, and has not only been backed by random fans, but many former players and many many reporters around the nation as well as some highly regarded recruits. Why cant you just support your team and staff? go root for someone else if you only support us when we win.
