Ive heard for awhile he likes UK and if they became involved everything changes. Judging by who they're on I don't think they push too hard for hubbs.

However, if they convince him to wait so they can see who they get, that's bad.

UK is the one I'm worried about. I think since his rankings keep going up, they may get involved.

He's almost to UK status, you're right haha. Like I said, they're in on a lot of top 10 guys, and guys they probably take over him. The issue becomes, what if they miss on some and need him? It's Cal an UK, I think they get their guys and wind up not needing him, but, what if? Will be interesting where he decides to take his officials, you only get 5, and he has said Tennessee and auburn, who become the other 3?

This could get interesting.

If KY gets involved I'm 90% sure we've lost him. They usually get who they want.

I will say this, though. We were on him before he blew up. Hopefully that will count for something in the end.

They're involved, but I'll say it again...

I guarantee he isn't high on their list. They are in on some ridiculous guys, and want those guys much more than they do Hubbs. Hubbs is a backup to a backup plan to them, so at this point I wouldn't be concerned. Reason being, as you said KY usually gets who they want, they'd have to miss on a lot of guys to really go after Hubbs.

It'll be interesting to see when and where he takes his officials, that could be telling now with him supposedly opening back up.

I remember you saying he'd listen, which I definitely agree with, however I don't remember you saying KY would definitely come calling, thought you just said if they did hubbs would listen.

Like I've said, he's a backup to a backup plan at KY, unless they miss on a lot of guys they won't push hard for him. That's the same thing I said back when it was discussed that KY may come calling.

How so? Zero West TN recruits in 4 years at Kentucky.

Also, Hubbs is a prototypical Cal 2 guard. Hubbs is tall, a great scorer, athletic, and rumored to be able to play a little bit of the one spot.

That's right up Cal's alley.

Yea I was confused by the Memphis comment also.

Rumored to play a little one, by who? The only person I've heard that from is the other Memphis poster. His biggest weakness is ball handling, I've never heard of him playing PG.

They're in on some absolute stud guards, and wings, I'm sure you're well aware of them already, you know that they'd have to miss on a lot of them before theyd offer hubbs.

Many think Harrison twins are KY bound, if so that pretty much wraps up PG/SG.

He left Memphis 4 years ago, you said "Cal is starting to really recruit Memphis area since he left Memphis." guess I misunderstood, thought you were saying he started recruiting Memphis when he left Memphis, and got to UK, which was 4 years ago.

What talent is he looking at in this upcoming class? There's: king, Johnson, crawford, Nichols and jw3...to the best of my knowledge he hasn't shown much interest in any of them?

No, he's not shown much interest in them. But hasn't he shown a little in JW III, King, and Black (2014)? I always just assumed that the Memphis area is completely safe from Cal.

Leron Black is the only one he's really shown interest in, and Black's recruitment hasn't really gotten into full-swing.

No not really, maybe black not sure on him, but him being 2014 I doubt much.

Nowhere is safe from Cal, if you have top 15 players you're not safe.

I would think Memphis being recruited by Cal would be similar to Kiffin recruiting a kid from Ktown. Just something that I wouldn't expect to see at all.

Neither cal or Kiffin are going to not recruit a kid because they're from Knoxville or memphis, that's very naive to say the least.

You really think Cal or Kiffin let a top 10 kid go, because they're from Knoxville or Memphis? Not a snowballs chance in hell that happens.

And it's not just a Cal/Kiffin thing, that's recruiting. You like CCM would avoid a kid from Missouri?

Kiffin and Cal are different cases though. Cal was there for 9 years, and was endeared by the city. Many (dumb) Memphis fans still hold a grudge, but he was around in the formative years for these players and did great stuff for the University.

Kiffin was here a year, didn't bother to learn the NCAA rulebook regarding recruiting, etc., ran his mouth and then left. In a few more seasons, people won't even remember he was at UTK.

Like I said, doesn't even matter who it is. Recruiting knows no limits, you're not gonna avoid a top talent kid because you have a previous tie to his hometown.
