Romney's VP pick

There are certainly worse picks he could have made but he's no game changer at a time when he frankly needs to energize things, Meh, chalk it up as Uninspired Romney Campaign Move Number 27.

Solid Pick, base will be pleased.

Great pick. Perfect for the debates.

Yes good for the base, good for the debates, but (and damn I hate it) lawgator is right IMO. I think PR should be the pres, I like him that well. However, he won't deliver FL or OH I am afraid and I think he would have been better in an influential cabinet position vs. the Veep.

Vice presidential picks winning states is very overrated IMO. Many times presidential candidates do not even win their home states. I am still doubtful that Romney will win, but at least Ryan has a plan that will now be the center piece of debate instead of the **** slinging that has been going on so far. At the very least it takes the conversation off of Bain and turns it to Ryan. Ryan needs to go on the offensive with his plan because Obama will rubbish ads depicting him as the Medicare killer. I like the pick because of the 4 I would like Ryan as president the most. It may not swing my vote to Romney but at least in theory I can say I am eventually voting for a Ryan presidency if Romney wins.

Not that I care much but it is a good pick for the base and look forward to the debates.

The Vice Presidential debates are going to be like watching Bama against Tennessee the past few years. It may be close the first 30 minutes, but after that it's going to be brutal to watch.

An you would rather cut it? Or keep it the same?

My opinion: You never cut defense spending.

Dumb opinion. I take it you don't believe in a balanced budget? What is the alternative of not cutting? Should we continue to increase it year over year? Our national debt is a bigger threat than any foreign threat.

There is plenty of other pork you can cut besides that.

You think we're safe enough here to start cutting? That's dumb imo.

At what point of military spending would you feel safe? We already spend more money on defense than any nation on Earth. How many nuclear weapons do you need? We already have enough to destroy the world many times over

I hold defense in high priority but I'm still realistic and admit that it is indeed still a government program thus it has a lot of waste. I really think defense needs to be much more streamlined as well.

Ryan is a solid pick. The debate with Biden will be boring, be akin to the valedictorian debating Radio. Or tuning into the New England Patriots vs Mississippi State and expecting it to be close....

You can say that about a lot of government programs.
