Romney's VP pick

Campaign will now be about priorities. Increased defense spending, tax cuts for millionaires, and break the social contract with the middle class. Or invest in education and take care of our elders like they deserve.

I'm setting the national popular vote line at Obama minus 11.

Social contract with the middle class? WTF are you talking about? Is there a contract with the upper and lower class too? Where do these exist? In the constitution or is this just more bull **** you hear on MSNBC?

What voters does Ryan bring to Romney that he didn't already have? He already had the hardcore conservative, what does Ryan do for Independents? This is a win for Obama.

Oh you're right. He should have picked Joe Lieberman. :whatever:

Paul Ryan voted Yes for TARP, NDAA, Patriot Act, GM & Chrysler bailouts, No Child Left Behind, etc, etc, etc.

Same kind of candidate will get us the same kind of results we've had for many years.

He lost me after all those votes, but he talks a good game. Like I said, I think the base will like this pick, but he lost me long ago.

This is 100% correct...Romney's weak with social conservatives - thought he would shore up that flank of the GOP.

what does Ryan do for Independents? Very good question...

This will be close up to the debates.

After the debates, Romney will take the lead and not look back.

This was a great choice.

I like it as well. The question I have is will this, in any way, change the 20%? If each group has 40% of their respective parties vote then does Ryan help/hurt the 20% in any way?

If true, that speaks volumes of Mitt Romney if he truly believes Paul Ryan is his ticket to the White House. He's dumber than I thought, oh boy, who should my write-in vote be for?

Write yourself in, you saavy political guru

Romney needed to pick up votes with his VP pick... Should have asked Sherrod Brown. Could pick up Ohio and also pick up some of the socialist vote

This thread and a few of its posters keep taking highly frequent vacations to la-la land.

1. VP picks generally don't have a resounding effect on GE's. Quayle, Cheney, Gore and Biden all show that.

2. No, this won't mean the debates are an easy win for the right. Romney will still have things to answer for and, obviously, Obama will too.

3. This election, despite the VP pick, still will not be a landslide for either candidate. To those who continue claiming such, you are all idiots. Romney is still a flip flopping beacon of uninspired manure and Obama is still an incompetent liar.

Basically, this election is a toss up between two sub-par candidates. That is all.
