That ad bugs me. I don't think all out removal of those departments is very practical. For instance, the DoE. Half the budget is NNSA which isn't going to be cut that much. Now every agency has room for cuts, but there's practical cuts and shifting of responsibilities. There's a responsible process there.
Since test scores have remained virtually flat since the inception of the DoE, then one would think that it has done nothing to improve education. Stop wasting money on the bureaucracy and give money as block grants to the states if you must give them money.
Although Pauls budget has been lauded by both conservative political commentator Rush Limbaugh and Iowas Gov. Terry Branstad who called it the boldest plan to reduce the debt, the framework has been dismissed by Gingrich.
The former House speaker labeled the plan a non-starter.
If you come to me and tell me I need to lose 30 pounds and youre going to amputate my right leg, I think its a non-starter, Gingrich told the Quad City Times.
"Just think of what happened after 9/11. Immediately before there was any assessment there was glee in the administration because now we can invade Iraq," the Texas Republican told a group of mostly young backers in Iowa. He went on to suggest officials are now setting the stage for an invasion of Iran.
every time I begin to start leaning toward Paul, he goes and does something stupid.
