How can they afford to fire a coach but we can't?
Before you say Butch buyout, those payments end early next year and we generate 8 figures more revenue annually...
The last figure I heard was $19M for Pruitt and staff.Because one it's the wrong decision at this point and two we would owe, I believe, $12M or more to Pruitt and assistants. These two factors alone would make it a hard sell to the stakeholders. Don't quote me on the figure owed, could be wrong.
Honestly though, whether you are all in on the pandemic or not, wouldn’t it be the Tennessee way, to fire a coach during a pandemic and then not be able to hire anyone and be stuck with Weinke as interim.Yikes! I feel like we are the neighbors that make a lot of money but live paycheck to paycheck......
I said nothing about a major conference dropping anyone to add Liberty. Do you not think more expansion is coming? I do. Who’s to say that liberty couldn’t find their niche as an independent? BYU seems to be doing ok by going that route. My whole point was, IF I WERE HUGH FREEZE, I would strongly consider staying at Liberty. They’ve shown the commitment to compensate him and it appears they are showing a commitment to winning and taking the next step to being a relevant player in D1. Or he could jump to a middle of the pack school in a big time conference, where fans and boosters are clamoring for his job, if he doesn’t win x amount of games every year.
GBO!!
