It's nice that you and Mitt Romney are better than the rest of us. Your moral compass apparently consists of digging up 30 year old quotes from someone dying of lung cancer to make yourself look better. At least, that's what you think. I think it makes you look small.

No one said anyone looks better. I brought those up not because of his cancer but because he was set on a platform where his hatred and anger would be enshrined as American values and worthy of emulation. It is possible to exist on multiple points of the belief spectrum at once - to hold sadness for him and wish great treatment and a swift recovery, but to also believe that his actions and words are not worthy of emulation or enshrinement.

It's much better to compare Mother Theresa and Obama's pick, Robert De Niro. He seems to have similar love in his heart.

I'm just curious, did you feel the same when the award was given to Ellen DeGeneres or Robert DeNiro? It baffles me that people pick out a name like Rosa Parks, but ignore all the others who have also received the award. And I'm not even saying Rush deserved it, but if you look at ALL the names on the list, can you argue they did?

If you look at every name on the list, it's not like it holds the value some think it does. They hear "highest civilian honor" and names like Rosa Parks, and they "ooh" and "aah". But if you read them the rest of the list, you'll find it doesn't really amount to much. It's not much more than a political tool for Presidents to get good publicity.

IMO 75% of the people it's been given to don't deserve it.
