Rush Limbaugh has passed

There is a death bastard continuum wherein you are allowed to be a bastard provided your disdain for the the person who died is at an appropriate position on the other continuum. For further questions related to continuums please consult the manual.
The new word of the day is spectrum, continuum is too advanced. Think gender spectrum, etc.

He was a Steelers fan.

I really liked how he made an example of the media's concerted effort to prop up a black QB by using Donovan McNabb. I'm sure it was sweeter still since McNabb was with the Eagles.

In retrospect, I think Rush was right on McNabb.

When I was a kid (from 6-10 years old), if I was sick and couldn't go to school, or if it was summer time and daycare was having a day off, my dad would take me on his truck route with him. We would listen to Rush every time. I couldn't really follow the politics, but I liked his theme song and enjoyed his voice and his personality. When his show would end, I would know that we were almost home. Later in life, the sound of his voice would always take me back to those times with my dad. Those are some very fond memories.

I still don’t know what he said that was wrong about McNabb. I mean ESPN actively promotes black quarterbacks now with the Undefeated’s Weekly Black QB Stats. What a joke.

You having a completely opposing opinion is very affirming for me. It gives me a boost of confidence that my thoughts are absolutely spot on.
Well if you think belittling people's accomplishments based solely on their skin color is spot on you can have that victory all day champ.

Not surprising you're completely are off the "spectrum" regarding McNabb, Rush's position, the bigger picture, and my opinion.

You must wear an eye patch because you clearly miss about 50% of the content discussed.

You know, the right wing social media right acted pretty shtty when McCain croaked, worse with John Lewis and worse still with RBG. The feigned outrage over the twitter-verse "classless" left isnt going to get any traction.

The pearl clutching over social media haterz is ironic, if nothing else.

What's the bigger picture? He was a Steelers fan and McNabb was the Eagles QB so it's ok to say the only reason McNabb gets so much praise is because he's black?

I didn’t always agree with him (more often agree than not, though), but he did provide a voice to people underrepresented in media. He undoubtedly was a man of intelligence and I believe had the best interests of the country at heart.
RIP one of a kind

The bigger picture is this: in a meritocracy, like the NFL, propping someone up for any reasons other than their performance and ability to win is dishonest. It's political. Choosing to extol the virtues of any athlete because of their skin color isn't needed.

Dude, he lost his job as a NFL commentator because of it.

It's ok to believe he loved his country and also acknowledge he wasn't perfect and made mistakes.

Thanks for the info that everyone already knows. Now go back and read the post I commented on. He clearly did not know of which he commented.
