Russia Blocks Kerch Strait

This reminds me, we don't have a next U.S. ambassador yet, do we?
Its believed that he wants to nominate Heather Nauert, the current Spokesperson for Department of State. She has zero experience in diplomatic affairs. Her last job was working on Fox and Friends.

Will wait for additional sources but saw a tweet saying the Ukrainian national security council will declare martial law.

Furthermore Turchynov says that this was an act of military aggression by the Russian Federation.

Trump reacts to the international military incident.

Trump not tweeting about it is a good thing. We all know that.

I looked at his twitter feed earlier and he’s quiet on the situation which for now is good. And frankly we’re not hearing anything out of Merkel, Macron, May, etc... either. Again probably all good things.

Why is it good? This is a fluid situation, but it's not to early for the U.S. to make a generic statement about the importance of keeping the Kerch Strait open for UKR ships.

EDIT: See NATO statement above.

Why needlessly escalate with “demands” until both the Ukraine and Russia get their positions out. NATO has issued a statement of sovereign support for the Ukraine.

What good would a statement be right now?

Well the vote on martial law and war will be held in about 15 hours. I also saw where Petro is calling for first line reservists to be prepared for call-ups.

Overreaction.

Is the NATO statement an escalation?

So I wonder if Ukraine regrets slow rolling joining NATO now? 🤔

They petitioned I believe in 2008 but it got shelved? And I think the present admin is making it a priority again.
