Russia has no intentions or ambitions of threatening Europe. They have too much to lose economically in terms of energy sales and non-energy trade.Because of who is trying to expand his territory. When there is a skirmish between two small states that does not threaten to expand, no, we might tend to stay out of it.
But when a major nuclear power like Russia starts taking over other countries, especially pushing towards Europe, it matters.
And truth be told, Crimea was still essentially a province of Russia because they had their Black Sea naval base at Sevastopol even after the collapse of the USSR.The Crimea doesn’t belong to Ukraine anymore...
And obviously they didn’t use proper protocol, as in prior instances of using the strait..
They can barely hold together the Russian Federation they have right now. They have no ambition to expand past that. They have learned from the US how expensive holding and maintaining and empire can be.
And? Weapons on Russia's border from another foreign power is just as provocative as missiles being placed in Cuba.
Just so we can push LG our of here, can we at least all agree that this situation wasn't started or worsened by Trump?
Then we need to release our claims to the southwestern United States...

Trump didn't start it.
Trump hasn't materially altered Obama's punishments, in fact he added lethal arms sales.
However, from the bully pulpit he's been pretty terrible (e.g., undermining NATO unity).
bwahahahahahaha. This incident didn't just start out of the blue. There was a catalyst for this. It will be very interesting to see how this story develops over the next few days. I'm sure Ukrainian vessels have had access to the Sea of Azov since 2014, so undoubtedly, there was some shenanigans that were going on that the Russians may have gotten some intel about recently. Western interests transferring arms to the Eastern Ukrainian provinces possibly?
Seems fishy
