Russia bounty on US troops

If it is a thing, and he wasn't briefed, why is he golfing today? Wouldn't he call an emergency meeting to find out what happened, why was he nor pence briefed, and what measures need to be taken now against Russia.
Because it’s not an emergency. Just because the Berlin Wall came down doesn’t mean this sort of thing hasn’t continued for 30 years after the fall of the Soviet Union. The Russians continuously engage in provocative military acts that put our Naval vessels and Warplanes in close proximity to theirs that are very unsafe. They routinely fly missions close to Alaskan airspace to test our readiness or just to piss us off. I’m sure we do some similar things as far intelligence gathering, but I don’t think we cause them to sound collision warnings on ships in international waters like they do to us .

So now that this is out there, what do you think should happen?

Being honest, I think this is the kind of information the public should never hear about. If I had to guess, it got leaked for the purpose of making Trump look bad, which all has roots in political games I hate. That said, information like this, in the past, would have been kept hush-hush, and the response/retaliation would have been just as hush-hush. This is not a new tactic, and I'm willing to bet the CIA has employed the same method. These kind of tit for tat squabbles between countries used to be settled very cloak and dagger like.
Obviously countless hearings on the matter would suffice according to my sources.

Oh this political now. Hell the House of Commons pissed and they want old Boris to brief them and release the report on Russian operating the UK. If congress doesn’t have they will and the details will get outX We killed 300 Russians in Syria and put the video on Twitter. Not everything is cloak and dagger. Just like the GRU operation in the UK came to light their bounties scheme was going to come out to. It was leaked because no action was taken.

You guys are seriously butt hurt over something that deserved the scrutiny it received. Our government failed Ambassador Chris Stevens. His requests for extra security were ignored, and he lost his life. We won't even get into the lies after the event. The fact an American ambassador, not a soldier in a war zone which is the comparison you're attempting to make, but a diplomat, was killed deserves an investigation and as many hearings as it takes. And the buck was still passed.

And to be clear, none of this is a defense of Trump. He is clearly over his head. But this incident and Benghazi are not comparable. People keep wanting to play these political games of comparing events that are not alike. If the point your trying to make is Trump is incompetent, I agree. I also feel the prior administration was also often incompetent. I also feel Biden will be no different. These are the idiots we keep electing. Competency is not dictated by partisanship. Yet people will absolutely die on that hill when defending "their guy".

So do you think we escalate to save face? How far are we willing to push?

“The administration’s special envoy for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, preferred confronting the Russians directly about the matter, while some National Security Council officials in charge of Russia were more dismissive of taking immediate action.”

Washington Post is reporting that the Russian payments did, in fact, result in deaths of American soldiers.

Can you imagine being the parent of a soldier who was recently killed over there, only to find out that Trump knew it was going on and did nothing to stop it?

USFOR-A, SOCOM and CIA: We have intel that the Russians are placing bounties on our heads.

ONDI and NSC: the President hates anything to do with Russia so that keep this in our back pocket for now
Do you think using these acronyms give some kind of authority to your posts? Because the Russia thread says otherwise. Do you ever reflect on why you were so badly misled and how you fell for that for so long?

The Intelligence Community Launches Another Attack on President Trump but to What End

The would-be putschists within our Intelligence Community are at it again.

This morning, the New York Times ran a story headlines Spies and Commandos Warned Months Ago of Russian Bounties on U.S. Troops.

What is notable about the article is the sourcing. A bland “America officials.” Not “with knowledge” not “high ranking” not “within the Intelligence Community who were not cleared to talk about the matter” not even “current.” In short, there was no reason to give this story any more credence than any Pulitzer Prize winning story by the New York Times covering the Russia Hoax.

Not to be outdone, Jeff Bezos’s plaything, the Washington Post, had to jump on the bandwagon with Russian bounties to Taliban-linked militants resulted in deaths of U.S. troops, according to intelligence assessments.
Here we see the source as “people said,” which we know is the highest level of classification.

President Trump immediately denied it. As did DNI John Ratcliffe. A review by the IC led to a late breaking report that this intelligence does not, in fact, actually exist but was made up out of whole cloth.

CBS News’ Catherine Herridge has a developing report out this evening and it’s not good for those currently setting their hair on fire over this weekend’s freak-out du jour.

There’s a problem though. It appears the intelligence leaked to The New York Times by an anonymous source doesn’t even actually exist.

That would explain why the White House has no idea what the Times is talking about. It was being assumed that while the President wasn’t briefed, that the intelligence itself was out there, perhaps in a raw and unverified state. This latest report takes things a step further, not only saying it wasn’t in the PDB (Presidential daily briefing), but that they can’t find any such assessment at all. We are moving from the realm of being misleading into the story being outright fake news.

Herridge reports that her source believes such information would have been included in the PDB if it was true. Intelligence officials have been trying to locate it since Friday with no success.

Yes. They are going to call it FAKE NEWS and continue worshipping him. The man can do no wrong in their eyes.

You Communist idiots will fall for all of that Commie Fake News time and time again.

NEVER EVER believe very much of what the NY Times or Washington Post reports with UNNAMED sources.

The headline doesn't match the article.

The source did not say the intelligence doesn't exist. It says they don't think it was in PDB. this is a truly weak dodge because that just one source of the info to the president.

I am assuming that if in fact Trump was told this and chose not to act that everyone here would agree Trump has to go, ASAP.

LG has declared that Trump must go!
