Russia bounty on US troops

Do you think using these acronyms give some kind of authority to your posts? Because the Russia thread says otherwise. Do you ever reflect on why you were so badly misled and how you fell for that for so long?

Every time Trump comments he digs the hole deeper.

This is from someone who has sources inside DoD.

Now that the Fake News has been exposed, the narrative will shift to one that shows Americans killed by the Taliban, it must be because the Russians paid them.

“In early 2020, members of the elite Naval Special Warfare Development Group, known to the public as SEAL Team Six, raided a Taliban outpost and recovered roughly $500,000. The recovered funds further solidified the suspicions of the American intelligence community that the Russians had offered money to Taliban militants and other linked associations.”

Did they inform Trump ?

Do you think The President doesn't get briefed when Russian Intelligence is meeting with the Taliban in Qatar or when $500K in cash is found on a Taliban outpost?

I don’t know , we are hearing conflicting stories right now about the President and VP not getting briefed . That’s why I asked .

Who's in charge then if they're not getting briefed on national security matters? Shouldn't there be responsible adults in charge?

One would think that the POTUS and VP would be briefed on something like this but we are hearing that they weren’t and no intel can be found right now on it . How’s intel not getting to POTUS but getting to the media ? Somebody needs to find out some answers to all of it .
Edit : I don’t know who’s in charge of briefing them ( to answer your question ) but they need to come on out with the details .

Again, I agree. The thing about Trump is he is an anomaly. Most Presidents are about party first. Obama put the Democrat agenda above all. Bush put the Republican agenda above all. But Trump is not beholden to the GOP, so he puts himself first. But don't mistake that for any recent President putting the emphasis on where it should be, the country itself. No recent President has been about working together with the opposition and finding working compromises for the benefit of the country. It's been about party agenda and maintaining power.

End of the day, Trump is in over his head. I don't believe he sees the big picture at all. I don't think any politician sees the actual big picture. They all see what they want to see, but Trump's field of vision is incredibly narrow.

You may not like this point but I am going to make it anyway. From a few posts that I have read of yours you seem to want logical discussion. I think Clinton is recent but maybe I am too old or nostalgic.

I think an argument can be made that he was the last president to work well with the other side if the isle. He had Newt Gingrich as speaker while balancing the budget, reformed welfare, signed DOMA into law and avoided a full impeachment. These are not necessarily liberal ideas but he had to work with both parties. As for party agenda, yeah, presidents gotta put that as pretty much top priority. If not then they don't get re-elected or even belong to the party. (Not that it's a positive issue.)

Fire away.

You're probably right, which is why I find this all so infuriating and depressing. Compromise is the only thing that will actually help this nation, but no one wants to compromise. They all just want their way.

All these people saying they are Constitutionalists need to realize is that this government was built on compromise.

Compromise sucks because it means no one gets what they want but at the end of the day means everyone gets what they need.

So can we all agree that continued US involvement in an unwinnable war in Afghanistan is bad for the United States? If so, wouldn't Russia want that war to continue dragging down the US for as long as possible? Why would they suddenly stop instigating conflict? The last casualty according to the source below that was caused by hostile forces happened February 8th, 2020. Why the sudden lack of Russian bounty influenced US casualties?

Probably not. $500k in a Taliban outpost..so what? I guess you don't know that the US has been paying off Taliban and Afghans for 17 years now. Going to build a road? Bring the cash for the road...and the bribes that have to be paid out. THAT is how its done. Ally one day, Taliban the next. Thats how it works in Afghanistan.

The next question everyone needs to ask themselves is why didn't Schiff , Pelosi, Schumer, and the rest of the "Gang of 8" say something about this since since they are supposed to be briefed on it after the President is? Did Trump get briefed? Did Trump order them not to be briefed after being briefed (which is only due to extreme national security reasons)? Was Trump never briefed which is why Schiff, Pelosi, Rubio, McConnell, Nunes, Warner, McCarthy, and Schumer said nothing?

Why this is fishy is you get a leak in 2019 about a phone call to Ukraine within days, but nothing on this, where lives may have been lost, for months? Sounds like sensational BS to me.

The Proxy War with Russia will keep going on. Just like the one with Iran. And North Korea. And China..

If anyone wants to know why there would be a bounty on US troops try and find the video of Russians attacking an oil refinery held by Americans in Syria, 2018.

You'll also learn that Russia ain't sh!t as you see them get slaughtered by the USA.

Still glad it's not Hillary. That's all I need to sleep well at night. It looks like the Rs will keep the senate, and will gain seats in the House. Biden is an old school D who is used to making deals and who believes in law and order. I'll vote for Trump but don't plan to leave the country if Biden wins.
You got that right hillbilly. If we keep the senate possibly gain the house who cares who the president is anyways. I will say in all my years I have never even close witnessed such bad losers in my entire life. It’s been nearly four years now and it seems like yesterday he won the election. I did learn the power of the media and the extent at which some party members will go to destroy this country because they hate a president so much like a bunch elementary school children. I was taught and raised my kids as well to show respect and get on with your life if you lose in anything. I voted both parties anyways so really only thing bugs me is the nastiness of it all.

Catherine Herridge might want to update her resume. Debunking fake news like this will not enhance her job security at CBS.

Why are you still stuck on that? It was a loop that looked like a noose. Trying to minimize it as just a loop is expected from anyone trying to deny that racism exists in nascar.

Did you see the question ? I answered it politely. I could have been mean and talked about the over paranoia that Bubba , the media , the left and NASCAR melted down and collapsed into .. but I didn’t . Oh and IT WAS JUST A LOOP that had been there for a year .

You guys are seriously butt hurt over something that deserved the scrutiny it received. Our government failed Ambassador Chris Stevens. His requests for extra security were ignored, and he lost his life. We won't even get into the lies after the event. The fact an American ambassador, not a soldier in a war zone which is the comparison you're attempting to make, but a diplomat, was killed deserves an investigation and as many hearings as it takes. And the buck was still passed.

And to be clear, none of this is a defense of Trump. He is clearly over his head. But this incident and Benghazi are not comparable. People keep wanting to play these political games of comparing events that are not alike. If the point your trying to make is Trump is incompetent, I agree. I also feel the prior administration was also often incompetent. I also feel Biden will be no different. These are the idiots we keep electing. Competency is not dictated by partisanship. Yet people will absolutely die on that hill when defending "their guy".

I used to think the same. @Mick and I discussed it one time and he provided good sources that the embassy was part of a covert gun running operation. We still failed them on security but the "embassy" may not have been as clean as we once thought.
There's certainly more grey than black and white with the event for me now compared to when it happened.
