To date, DOD has no corroborating evidence to validate the recent allegations found in open-source reports,” chief Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement.

“Regardless, we always take the safety and security of our forces in Afghanistan – and around the world - most seriously and therefore continuously adopt measures to prevent harm from potential threats,” he continued.

You are referring to intel which was included in the President's Daily Brief as a conspiracy theory? I don't think this story is going away just because a few spokesmen are playing it down.

Agreed. We need more information about what was uncovered during these military interrogations of the Taliban and specifically, who was interrogated. It is too soon to be casting this as another Trump/Russia scandal. However, any intelligence contained in a written President's Daily Briefing can not be dismissed as a "conspiracy theory" either. I would like to know how hard the administration has been working to corroborate this intel. An administration can always say that an allegation of this nature remains unverified, if they don't care whether it's true or not.

As cognizant adults, we now know better and recognize it as panicky hysteria founded on nothing more than Russian propaganda funded by the DNC and Clinton campaign.

In fact, Trump was not seeking to remove sanctions upon taking office; Treasury sought an adjustment of their sanctions to allow the sale of IT products to Russia. That action, portrayed by Dems as a payoff to Russia, was purely a Treasury action that began weeks before Trump taking office, by Obama officials. U.S. makes limited exceptions to sanctions on Russian spy agency

If you think the Pentagon, WH officials, and people who actually work in intel are all lining up to lie for Trump about a nothing burger, "dumb" doesn't begin to cover the intellectual black hole you exist in.

This is a lie.

Also, Trump did not want to sign the Russian sanctions bill from August of 2017 into law. He had no choice. Congress had a veto proof majority of votes.

I'm not implying he had a choice; it's simply not relevant to the argument. Trump disagreed with the bill, which was essentially a separation of powers dispute fueled by the left using Russian propaganda.
