Russia bounty on US troops

You and your right-wing talking points....Trump slurper!!!!!

“The Department of Defense continues to evaluate intelligence that Russian GRU operatives were engaged in malign activity against United States and coalition forces in Afghanistan. To date, DOD has no corroborating evidence to validate the recent allegations found in open-source reports,” chief Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement.

“Regardless, we always take the safety and security of our forces in Afghanistan – and around the world - most seriously and therefore continuously adopt measures to prevent harm from potential threats,” he continued.

Game over for VN conspiracists.

If you’re dumb enough to believe this means anything, you’re going to be really surprised when this is, in fact, not game over.

You are referring to intel which was included in the President's Daily Brief as a conspiracy theory? I don't think this story is going away just because a few spokesmen are playing it down.

Anybody jumping on one side or the other of this thing before actual proof is shown to prove it either way is just dumb . Let it play out and see where the facts are .
Agreed. We need more information about what was uncovered during these military interrogations of the Taliban and specifically, who was interrogated. It is too soon to be casting this as another Trump/Russia scandal. However, any intelligence contained in a written President's Daily Briefing can not be dismissed as a "conspiracy theory" either. I would like to know how hard the administration has been working to corroborate this intel. An administration can always say that an allegation of this nature remains unverified, if they don't care whether it's true or not.

My stance is , get the guy in charge of the briefings to POTUS and the VP , put his butt in front of a microphone and tell him to spill it .. all of it .

In August of 2017, Trump reluctantly signed into law a bill that levied new sanctions against Russia and restricted his ability to ease sanctions against Russia that were already in place. That's right. The Republican Congress actually felt it necessary to install veto power to block Trump from removing Russian sanctions. You are in complete denial. That is the only place a Trump supporter can possibly be and think the way you do.

Gee, even if I accepted your claim as true, it would ignore the 52 times Russia has been sanctioned in the Trump era:
On the record: The U.S. administration’s actions on Russia

And let's put context to your assertion. In 2017 Russia fever was rampant among Dems and Repubs alike. Further, objective Repubs thought it better he didn't have the ability to have that power while under investigation. The legislation asserting congressional oversight of modifying sanctions was a pre-emptive strike at a non-existent problem; Trump/Russia "collusion".

As cognizant adults, we now know better and recognize it as panicky hysteria founded on nothing more than Russian propaganda funded by the DNC and Clinton campaign.

In fact, Trump was not seeking to remove sanctions upon taking office; Treasury sought an adjustment of their sanctions to allow the sale of IT products to Russia. That action, portrayed by Dems as a payoff to Russia, was purely a Treasury action that began weeks before Trump taking office, by Obama officials. U.S. makes limited exceptions to sanctions on Russian spy agency

You wear those denial shoes well, my friend.

No; I precisely refer to VN leftists as conspiracists and meme-generating machines. I precisely referred to the the bounty claim as unverified intel rumor.

There is no story except to dolts who swallowed it like blind baby chicks, chirping for momma to feed them another worm.

Russia offered taliban fighters bounties on American soldiers in Afghanistan last year. The White House was briefed on the situation in March. No response except to advocate for Russia to rejoin the G7. Is this ok? What say you?
Report: Russia Offered Bounties For Taliban Militants To Kill U.S. Soldiers And Other Allies
Russian Spy Unit Paid Taliban to Attack Americans, U.S. Intelligence Says
Russia reportedly paid Taliban-linked militants bounty money to kill American troops
Now hold on, why would this happen when Trump is a Russian comrade of Russia?

These stories are DAF, not sure how anybody thinks they could hold water.

If you think the Pentagon, WH officials, and people who actually work in intel are all lining up to lie for Trump about a nothing burger, "dumb" doesn't begin to cover the intellectual black hole you exist in.

Oh, it's a story... and it's not just Democrats who want some answers either.

"Imperative Congress get to the bottom of recent media reports that Russian GRU units in Afghanistan have offered to pay the Taliban to kill American soldiers with the goal of pushing America out of the region. I expect the Trump Administration to take such allegations seriously and inform Congress immediately as to the reliability of these news reports." - Sen. Lindsey Graham (R - SC)

"Vladimir Putin has never been a friend to the United States. I am deeply concerned by the reports that Russia put bounties on American soldiers. If this is true, Russia must be held accountable." - Rep. French Hill (R- AR)

"The American people have a right to know what is being done to protect our men and women in uniform. We need answers now." - Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL)

A few dismissive statements by spokespeople wont be enough.

This is a lie.

Also, Trump did not want to sign the Russian sanctions bill from August of 2017 into law. He had no choice. Congress had a veto proof majority of votes.

You should be embarrassed by including white house officials on that list. And it's pretty obvious the leaks are coming from people who work in intel.

Precisely what is a lie?

I'm not implying he had a choice; it's simply not relevant to the argument. Trump disagreed with the bill, which was essentially a separation of powers dispute fueled by the left using Russian propaganda.

Yeah, we'll need yet more congressional hearings and maybe even another impeachment to arrive at "Oh...it's unverified and inactionable intel chatter."

Swell.
