No, that is completely accurate.
Biden is certainly nowhere near the best choice overall but far and away the best choice between the two viable candidates.

I still don't see the contradiction.
I find it insane for someone to believe that Trump is awful but no worse than .................
If you insanely believe that, then Trump should get your vote.
If Trump gets your vote because you believe he is no worse than the other choice....I think that vote is based on an insane belief.
If Trump gets your vote even though you think he is worse......I think that is insane also.

It's like the sausage or bat brain pizza choice I gave earlier in some thread.

It's really more of a "deplorability/despicability meter" unless good and evil exist on the same plane...and if they do, I'm not sure if it should be linear or cyclical.

I can't believe that the White House is saying that neither President Trump or Vice President Pence were ever briefed on intelligence which is now (reportedly) 3 months old. That strains credulity. Why wouldn't either the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, or the Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper, have briefed President Trump on something like this, in the 3 months since it was (allegedly) uncovered? That doesn't make any sense. Yes, there will be leaks. You don't make the Pentagon look this foolish without some push back.

I know Biden is bad but Trump isn’t sausage. He’s more like the well done steak with ketchup vs bat brain in your scenario.

Ah, so it’s back to your belief that Trump is the worst human being ever. You’re not saying that it’s insane to vote for person x because they’re less worse than person y. You’re saying it’s insane to vote for Trump no matter the reason.

I think this is concerning and needs to be addressed, but I'm not sure how. Do we want to start WWIII? And I also think comparing this to Benghazi makes for a poor comparison. The situations aren't comparable. One was an inadequately protected embassy that had requested more security, this is about soldiers in a war zone. The only way they compare is both are bad. Honestly, I would be more for simply withdrawing troops from Afghanistan than anything else. We could levy sanctions, but what good does that do when our so called allies will continue to do business with Russia? I'm open to suggestions on how you think we should respond. What would be effective?

To be clear, I'm certainly not advocating we start a war with Russia. Since this also concerns our most important ally, I think we should discuss this with them and come out with a joint response.

I can agree with that, but other than "cut that out!", I'm not sure we can come up with an adequate response. And, as has been stated, we are probably guilty of the same thing. So we are in an untenable situation here.
