Russia bounty on US troops

Ah, so it’s back to your belief that Trump is the worst human being ever. You’re not saying that it’s insane to vote for person x because they’re less worse than person y. You’re saying it’s insane to vote for Trump no matter the reason.
Pretty much, yeah.
If person x is significantly less worse than person y, person x should receive your vote.
Trump is significantly worse than Biden.
Trump is significantly worse than most everyone.
If a Trump supporter does not view him as significantly worse, then I don't question their support of Trump as much as I question their judgement and ability to be rational and reasonable.

That’s your view and so it’s no less valid than mine or anyone else’s (except in each of our minds of course). I do have a question though. What in the world is rational and reasonable about what Dems have been doing since Trump took office and seemingly even before he took office? Dems have completely lost their minds. I agree with you that Trump is divisive but the Dems sure as hell aren’t being any less so.

They still defend him, it's a cult. Jim.Jones level cultism. The only way this can be achieved is to be convinced to hate something or someone so much, you're willing to sacrifice yourself.
Is your blind loyalty to the left cultish? Trump has done plenty wrong, no denying that, and he certainly has his defenders, but they're no more vociferous than the defenders of Obama, or Hillary, or Biden, or Pelosi, or any prominent Democrat.

Speaking only for me........Trump simply crossed the line of acceptability. He represented a low that the country should not allow itself to stoop. He warranted the response he received.
Usually the presidential race is between pepperoni or sausage pizza, some people strongly prefer pepperoni, some have a great dislike for pepperoni, some get sick when they eat sausage............but there is understanding by most that it boils down to a personal preference and rational, reasonable, and normal people could disagree.

Trump represents bat brain pizza. Most will never understand why anyone would choose it. It's something that the vast majority can not stomach.

I'll see your tax returns and raise you a long-form birth certificate.

I was having a hard time wrapping my head around you living in Boston while holding your views. You seem to be a genuine small gov proponent.
I’d say smallish government. I’ve given up all hope for small government. I was raised by moderate republicans. Then drifted towards moderate Democrats in my late teens and early 20’s. Now my attitude towards government is basically leave me the **** alone.

Sounds like how I was raised

I don't know what other evidence could possibly convince his supporters that there is some link there, between Trump and Russia. He defends them and supportsthem EVERY time.

More fidelity to Putin than to his wives and fellow Americans

An attitude a few of us share in common.

You believe the Republic cannot be salvaged and return to its "leave me alone" foundations?

I will agree with you, but the response of American leadership to this report still matters. Vladimir Putin will, of course, completely and emphatically deny this report. Trump should not publicly side with Putin's denial over the conclusion of United States Intelligence Officials. That will only serve to embolden Putin. Trump probably will side with Putin, though... and then Trump will also continue to lobby for Russia to be admitted back to the G 7.

I think we (DJT, Biden, whomever) should lobby for Russia to be in the G7. As I offered earlier, I don't understand how America makes the case for Russia being so bad when we have trade partnerships with other countries who are just as bad or worse. I think if we want to sincerely pull out of the cold war mindset and forge better relationships we must look for diplomatic and economic ways to bridge the divide in an attempt to move forward.

Paying bounties to a terrorist organization to kill American troops in a war they aren't involved in, is crossing a line. There is no degree of "what-about-ism" that is going to make this any better. Not every country does this. At this point, it's just an allegation, reported and confirmed by multiple media outlets. It's a very serious allegation, however. You are being too dismissive of it. If true, this makes Russia, a state sponsor of terrorism. In 2019, the Taliban was rated the deadliest terror group by the Institute for Economics and Peace.

And hell no, Russia shouldn't be in the G 7. They don't need to be in order to try and build a better relationship with them. We have been trying to build a better relationship with them for 35 years... their current leadership isn't cooperating.

Lmao. Are you aware the US has done the same exact thing for 60 years?

I'll see your Ukraine impeachment and raise you a BJ impeachment.
You can take your whataboutism elsewhere. BB loves that stuff so talk to him about it. You haven’t denied the lunacy of the Dems, you’ve only implied it’s justified due to prior lunacy from the Reps. By the way, Clinton wasn’t impeached for getting a BJ.

I'm not surprised the "we do it too" defense is being used. Every situation and circumstance is different. There is no degree of "what-about-ism" that is going to make this look any better.

So are you suggesting the US shouldn’t be in the G7 too? Just asking

I can see you don't have the stomach for diplomatic solutions. Crossing a line??? You've never heard the phrase "all's fair in love and war"? I didn't say 'every country does this'. I said it is likely America has done the same. I've made a case for Russia being in the G7. I believe it is a better, less costly, long term solution to our current tenuous relationship. I am at peace for you to disagree.

Don't like our soldiers having a bounty on their heads? Put pressure on DC to bring our troops home! Problem solved.

I just enjoy pointing out how exasperated Trumpers get when the Republicans' own looney methods are used against him. I guess it's not lunacy when Republicans do it. I'll call the Clinton impeachment whatever I want.

Just to be clear, Russia was kicked out of the G 8 over their annexation of Crimea. There are a wide array of reasons that they should not be allowed back in. This just adds to an already lengthy and still growing list.
