Russia brings the fight to ISIS in Syria!!!

le fuq. we better ground all of sorties until that mess gets figured out. it will be interesting to see what Turkey does with this. IMO they can't call up NATO as the initiating party.

The exact same could be said of you...

We've used very limited means in our fight vs ISIS, way before the Russians got involved, and this isn't even debatable. We "bombed" sand for a year prior to the Russians coming in and ISIS got stronger. Exlain that...

two things. One, how many times have i read your articles and gone on to break them down? including checking their "sources" which are usually references back to the initial article author. Two, myself and others have been breaking down why it doesn't work as an air campaign by itself. We have been saying this since we got involved. its not some fresh line off the presses. Russia is "doing better" because they are working with the Syrians and level city blocks to take down a building.

as to explaining why we aren't as "effective" as the Russians again two things. 1. We don't really have a relationship with Syria so we aren't going to hit targets anywhere near Syrian forces or populated areas. Collateral damage and avoid situations of them shooting down our planes. 2. Unless something drastically changed we were focusing on Iraq, and imo never should have been in Syria. And if you want results just look at how the Kurds are doing. In both countries. If we are working with anyone in that area its the Kurds, and they have at least stabilized their regions. again air and ground forces working together is more effective than just bombing. If you look at the maps that break down the bombing locations and look at those regions they are relatively stable.

but please continue to ignore a little bit of logic and reason and post the next conspiracy theory you have.

Shiz is getting real now with the Russian fighter shot down by Turkey. Turkey doesn't seem to give one holy **** about it either.

The only theories being floated around are the ones where you continue to make excuses for our agenda. Its okay to admit that we are only over there to oust Assad and not slow down ISIS.

omfg, you can't be consistent. How is us staying the frick away from Syrian forces actively trying to get rid of him? I agree that we wouldn't shed one tear if Assad fell, and we aren't protecting him and his. but our active participation in the region has only been targeted at ISIS. And again look at Korbane and the Kurdish areas and tell me we aren't slowing down ISIS.

Turkish F-16 shoots down Russian fighter jet near Syria border | Fox News

Welcome to the war, Turkey. Russia and China will be glad to blow you up with Isis.

I wish our president would grow a pair, and share some bullets with Turkey on Thanksgiving. He'll probably go golfing instead, maybe he'll only spend 2 million this time instead of 3 million while NBA players donate turkey to the poor. Obama better keep his turkey legs out of it and not even bother defending Turkey if Russia decides to mop the floor with Turkey. I know Obama would love nothing more than to protect the Muslims but he can f*** off already. This isn't his war, he's made that clear. The coward should continue cowering, it's what he's good for. Go side with thugs over cops and all that bulls***. Russia and China, you have Turkey's address. Send them your love.

Who is "we"? Unless you're part of Russia, whatever country you reside in isn't doing s***. Even China is entering the war to help Russia. Obama is a coward liberal. Like all liberals in America.

so the Kurds are having no success at least do in part to our bombing efforts and getting Turkey to allow them to cross borders. A big freaking deal right there with all the unrest in western Turkey. but thats not on the agenda so no one hears that angle.

Why the West Won’t Hit ISIS Where it Hurts | New Eastern Outlook

Fighting ISIS at its source, for the West, means putting the blade to its own throat. It is clearly responsible for the rise and perpetuation of this terrorist group – not through the mere consequences of its actions, but through an intentional, concerted effort to create a formidable proxy army to wage its wars in the Middle East and North Africa with.

If Westerners are wondering why, despite attacks on Western soil, and alleged military campaigns predicated on these provocations setting out to eradicate ISIS, the terrorist organization not only still survives, but is thriving, the answer is – the West has no intention of eradicating it.

let me ask a question for all. If all of our work was only able to achieve Korbane being relatively secure, and held by the Kurd militia. Why has Russia only been able to open a supply lane to a town that has been under siege with a real military behind them? especially if Russia is being so much more effective? where are the magical results? the air campaign for Korbane was roughly as long as Russia has been in Syria. the dates are debatable on both sides which is why I said roughly.

I'm just happy it's some international fuqery that the U.S. isn't balls deep in.

Hitler was right. Just piss poor execution on his part.

I'd agree. If he couldn't end it quick, it wasn't going to happen..

I don't think Putin should be underestimated though. I doubt this disappears without a response..

What's he going to do, attack Turkey? No! Maybe shoot down a Turkish plane at the most.

Russia cannot afford a protracted fight far from it's borders. It dam sure cannot afford a fight with NATO.

If those pilots weren't in Turkey's airspace, then this was an act of war by Turkey. The fact the pilots were shot to death by "refugees" in Syria should be alarming to the world and remind us why no country should allow refugees to enter.

I think this is going to really escalate things in a bad way.

No, not attack Turkey, but I'm positive that there will be some flexing of muscles. I'd say the air patrolling of the Turkish borders will intesify with massive amounts of planes. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Turkish ambassador booted, either...
