People voting for Santorum must be people I have nothing in common with because I've never met someone that prefered him over other candidates. I'm thinking this is a "Man of the Year" type voting flaw because his name has the most vowels.

Yes he is. Santorum actually believes what he is up there mouthing. You might not like conservative values --and hence Rick Santorum-- but at least he isn't taking these positions based on voter preferences. His stint in PA proved that.

He couldn't win an election running as the incumbent, why is he now better than a few years ago?

He was carried out on a wave that took many Rs out.

He's Huckabee without the "aw shucks" and like ability. Pretty much the opposite of what I'd look for in an R candidate. Still, the Obama alternative is horrible. Reagan, Bush Sr and Clinton are beginning to look like real superstars.

I'm not a Ron Paul guy, but I don't get it either.

If Santorum gets the nod, I'm either not voting or going third party if I can find one I like. Santorum rminds be too much of Bush jr., and there would be alot of big government continuation (with different flavors than Obama of course), coupled with the social value crap that makes me want to vomit.

Hell, I might just vote Ron Paul on principle.

I don't understand why it's only a problem when a conservative discusses or takes a stance on social issues. When a liberal funds or shows support for Planned Parenthood or other socially liberal groups there is rarely any concerns about their stance on social issues.

There is a big difference between supporting the funding of social programs, and attempting to ban things some see as social ills.
